Bt mail worked fine on the N8 with near instant delivery when the setting "soonest" was used. Now the 808 is supposed to also support push email. The equivalent setting on the 808 seems to be "On notification" for "when to sync". Only it just doesn't work. No mail is ever received on this setting.
Does anyone have push email working for BT mail on the 808? I can't believe this does not work when it works on the older phone. Imap idle support is listed in the specs.
Ok, anyone using "On notification" with ANY email account?

also has "soonest" in Auto-retrieval .. retrieval frequency .. at least that is what the specific mail account has .. try that ..
What do you mean by the "specific mail account"? Thanks.

ie the one you want to modify.

then select Auto Retrieval

and set .. "Soonest"

I see different options. There is no "Auto-Retreival". I have "Sync content" and "Sync Frequency" so the options must differ with the email provider. I've even tried setting up the account manually (you have to put in a nonsense email address to do this) but to no avail. It just ends up the same. Same account, different Nokia phones, push on one but not the other. Is it any wonder people are moving to Andriod and Apple?
