Withold own number on P800

Hiya folks...just bought this P800 ...nice toy indeed and each day I keep discovering new features. However I have not managed to find how to do the set up in order to withold my number when making calls.

Anyone any idea???

Tx in advance

You can cheat and put #31# (USSD Code) before a number that you dial. There is also a menu option (which puts this in for you). Type in your number, select the menu button (right of cancel). You will see it listed. I think the USSD code is the same for all networks. Try it out!!

I never knew there was such a possibility, does anyone know the code for the Philippines? 😊 Is this a code we type in to switch it on/off or does it permanently do that for all numbers or just someone you specify?

Not aware of any settings in the phone for this, but Optus (my Australian carrier) has a network setting that is either on or off and the status is shown on your monthly bill. It can be changed by a simple phone call to Optus. The 1831 prefix is a call by call thing to change from the default.

Of course, it could be totally different in the Phillipines!

This function is completely network dependent. I remember seeing this feature even in older nokia fones. I dont believe they have this feature in the Philippines though 😊

Yesh even in India we cannot use this..if i put that option on, i cannot make outgoing calls...it just gives me the Three Beep Sound thingy.
i can subscribe for it though 7 restrict my number to be shown..with this option suscribed to..the other people see my number as "PRIVE NUMBER" on their cell.

its totally network dependant.

oops sorry...forgot to log in..
some corrections...

If your provider supports this feature, you can type in the phone number.
Before tipping on the phone-button for calling this number go to the menu on the top left, the second point is "blind out own number". Tip on this and the phone automatically will type the code in front of the number you tipped in.
In Austria it works well.
