Ive just recieved the beta version of palmanac's "THE BEER ENGINE". It uses a database containing information on over a thousand beers, wines and spirits, enabling you to record exactly what booze you've had, and when. You can view graphs of your drinking habits, how many units you drank over a period of time, and display an estimate of your current blood alcohol level. On a quick glimpse it looks o.k and easy to use ,but I havent tried it out yet so im off out to the off licience now to get some alcohol so I can start trying it out, then I'll report back. :silly:
THE BEER ENGINE
that's nice! 😊 Tell us more about it if you've tried it 😊
We'll, Ive tried it out and I have to say that its a very good app. When you start it up, you have to put your gender and weight in, then every time you have a drink, when your half way through it , you enter it in. Its got every kind of drink you could possibly think of. Its quick and easy to enter the drink. If you drink lager, stout, cider or ale for example, you choose which one and then it gives you a list of the different kinds, then when you select it, it gives you the quantity e.g Draught, bottle or can. Then you choose the size of the pint or bottle or can. Its hard to explain, u must see it. You can then find out what your blood alcohol level is and get graphs of your drinking habbits for the day, month or year. If you do happen to find a drink thats not there then you can enter it in yourself. It also has a "usuals" menu which is an easy way of selecting your usual drinks. VERY GOOD APP. 😃 Also, Last nite my blood alcohol level was very high, then I switched my phone off and went to sleep. When I woke up and switched it on, my blood acohol level was much lower, but not all the way down .So it keeps track even when off. 😃
really? where can i get that app? 😊 I'll install it on my boyfriend's phone so that he'll not drink too much anymore! hehehe! I might even need that too 😊
:-? i tried to search for you, it seem that there is no such appl around.
It's still a beta - if you want to help them develop it, send them an email from their website: www.palmanac.co.uk, [email protected], and they will send you the prog 😃 .
Paul
is that a free program?
Thanks for the information

Thevariety of software keeps expanding.
I wish there was a program (with hardware)that lets you hook the 7650 upto your car's eec and scan it for problems.

I don't think 4mb memory will be enough for my car's problems 😃 😃 😃
About Beer engine nice program, works great, and has a large database of alcoholic beverages, but it's a bit big. Compressed with Sdoubler its 100kb, uncompressed its 278kb
I think best appl to work with these will be the SpaceDoubler for saving spaces...

Yes it does compress to 36% of original siza. I've suggested to developers that they allow user to delete some of the beverages that are not available locally
cool 😃
Anyone got the latest on 'the beer engine' app?
Thanks in advance.

It's still in beta. I don't know if they still allow testers but try at the email earlier in thread.
