Hi - just installed Infared Remote 0.91 and selected Sony TV but nothing works. I take it I need to haev infared activated on the phone and then try turning up the volume etc. but it's not having it.

I have a 32" Sony Widescreen and live in the UK so it will be a PAL model, would this make a difference?

Firstly you do NOT need to activate infrared as it will initiate on every button you press(when you have ir remote open).

Secondly try the alternative SONY control.

If it doesnt work test it on more tvs SONY and or others.

I've got the exacrt same problem as wozwebs. Same TV and everything. Works on my Bush TV in my room, but the family TV don't wanna know, nor does the Sony Hi-Fi or the Sony DVD. Perhaps this is just a problem with Sony's stuff??

Works on every device I have tried (LG, Panasonic, Hitatchi, Philips) tv/stereo/dvd (about 10 devices in all so far).

Only thing it won't work on is Mitsubishi (tried 2 different black diamond video's, and one bd tv) - nothing at all.

all my stuff work, i love the teletext feature which wasn[t in the very very original trial version.

I've noticed the lack of Pioneer aswell in the brands list 😞

I have the Pioneer 535 DVD player.

Doesn't work with my Samsung VCR either.

Sony 25" Trinitron TV

didn't like my:
Sharp 740 DVD
Bush VCR
Akai 28" Widescreen TV

and doesn't like the big Toshiba telly down the pub. bah!

still a great app 😊

It works with my Sony Hifi. Also Having lunch today I was +/- 5m from a Sony TV in the restaurant. I changed the channel to what I wanted to watch 😃 Nobody knew what was happening.

Could the distance factor be influenced by the firmware on phone? I've noticed people complaining about ranges less than 1 metre?
