EMTAC has an solution for this in a few weeks, and its bundeld with a Sweedish Company's software. Wayfinder. that already has a system for the Nokia 7650. Plc feel free to contact me for questions

I just found theyre uk brochure.
It sounds fantastic, but i wonder how much it will cost using the GPRS connection given that it currently costs 4 per megabite on orange at the moment.

Lets hope the data is quite small.

Cant Wait 😃

You have to be registered to see atachments, but miniGPS is no real GPS solution and it has nothing to do with GPS.

Not to sound like a real moron - even though I am, when you say GPS, you are talking about Global Positioning right??? How is this applied and used? And no abuse please 😉

i WOULD NOT HAVE THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE ANY NETWORK CHARGES. capsoff! 😮ops: To receive a GPS signal would be 'free' and done by the add on GPS box I assume? The 'phone' would simply display the data?

What are you talking about, you don't have to pay any network charges to run miniGPS,miniGPS dosn't recieve GPS signal. And yes,we are talking about Global Postioning but miniGPS doesn't have anything to do with it 😊

To clarify, MiniGPS is a bit misleading as a product name. It allows you to identify what cell you are connected to e.g. at Home, Work etc and also associate events. For example you could get your phone to switch itself off when you're at the airport automatically (not my personal recommendation I hasten to add! I just read it somewhere).

While it does give you an indication of which cell you are connected to it will not give you latitude/longditude or a map. I did hear a rumour that they were looking to link it to some mapping software. One idea might be to do a deal with one of the mapping website to store cell numbers against maps, so you could download a map of the general area. Only problem is accuracy - while GPS will give you accuracy down to a few metres I am not sure how wide a cell coverage might be!!!

yes. the miniGPS is misleading. But what really would be nice is a GPS module or smthg for the P800 like NOKIA have for their communicator.
