If You get a flashbox (Pretty Pricey) I think Nokia is the only ones with the actual firmware.

Easiest is to go to a Nokia service Center. They upgrade for free or for a nominal fee

Yes the biggest problem with upgrading is that very few places do it while you wait. It normally means leaving the phone for a few days or even a few weeks if it can't be done on site :x

Yep, if you have a choice of several NSCs nearby, check them to see what version of the f/w they have, and if they are prepared to do it "while you wait" (that in itself is a good indication of their ability).

Your phone should be under warranty, so you can just say the phone hangs a lot, you need to reboot several times a day, that way they should do it for nothing.

As Doc & GhostDog have said, the flasher itself is about 150, not sure if you need anything other hardware, and then you have to find the firmware (not for sale!!!).

I upgraded "while you wait" it took just on an hour from start to finish. Easily the safest option
