hi all, i wanted to know if anyone has got zelda working on goboy? I can send the game to my phone, then zipman opens, i go to open the file (in zipman) and goboy open but doesnt display the game on the title screen and phone gives me an error message (i have 1.5meg free) 😮
Anyone know what im doing wrong?

What is the error message. And does it appear on the title screen of zelda or goboy's main screen.
the error is that i have run out of mem and to close some apps. It doesnt get into zelda screen, the goboy doesnt show the game name at all.

Press the joystick instead of the left button. If the same thing happens try to reboot your phone, and try again...
The reason it is not displayed the name is because it has a long file name. If you unzip the file in your computer rename it to a smaller (eg. Zelda), zip it again and them send the zip file to your phone and open it again it will show the filename in goboy.

umm gives the same error, i know the rom file works as i have tryed it on windows emulator, im trying to rename to a smaller file see if that makes a difference, should there be any special version of zipman i should be using? (using zipman1.2)
Zipman 1.3 does the job for me. Haven't tested 1.2 but i don't think zipman is the problem. Do you have a 3650 or 7650. Tell me also what other apps you have installed. You may also try to download appman to see your free ram, and tell me...

ive got 7650, ive just got irremote, space doubler, goboy and zipman installed
just installed appman, freememory (the left box on the top row) says 3.5m from fresh reboot and 2.96 after i get message from goboy

Usually a restart of the device frees memory. Have you tried it? I have tested zelda and zelda dx and they work. I don't know about the other "oracles of sth" but i'll try and tell you. By the way download a program that can tell you your free ram like appman. You out have 2mb of free ram in order to be able to play gb roms...

Just tried oracle of reasons as well as oracle of sages. Although i haven't seen the memory problem you have mentioned both of them showed the first title screen (the one with capcom and nintendo) and after that a white screen for an eternity. So even if you'll be able to pass the memory problem you won't be able to play it because the game is incompatible with the emulator. Maybe this will fixed on a future version... Try zelda dx. It's really good, smaller and color like the oracles.

ah i tryed zelda DX which got past the goboy screen but crashed, ill give it another bash 2morw now, i think i might have a dodgy zeldadx file, ill look for another d/l 2morw.

doesn't work. i tried it as well. it boots to the credits meaning the ROM loaded fine but then it doesn't play meaning its incompatible. but knowing nintendo's ways of using 'undisclosed' specs is one of nintendo's ways of biting the competition. a bunch of ****s if you ask me.
anyway i got Zelda DX to work on my emulator though; pretty good but mind you its not too easy to play having to press the 3650 button in to block OR to attack as neither are really suited to action.
which version goboy, zipman you using? My zelda dx gets into the goboy screen but crashes, i tryed the rom on a win emulator and it works perfectly. Also could the firmware have anything to do with it?

Goboy 1.2 and zipman 1.3. Have you tried to download a different version? Eg you may have the us version but the emulator may be only compatible with the pal...
Also firmware version 3.16(7650) but i don't think it has anything to do with it...
ah good point MemphisX, ill see if i can get hold of any other sources for gb roms, if your allowed to, point these out on this forum (save me alot of time), ill let u guys know how i get on

it worked! i used Seremify's technique of sending the file to the phone and renaming and..... well u can check his thread. Gotta say zelda looks amazing on 7650 😃
I have tried,zelda-link's awakening,zelda oracle of ages,zelda oracle of seasons.
The only one that works is zelda link's awakening,the others just pass the credits screen and stay like that.
I have also tried other games,like Metal Gear Solid,Grand Theft Auto,Micromachines,all of them exit with unknown romsize.
They were ripped by my freind who is really an expert in that area.
All of them work on pc emulators.
Any ideas how to remedey this?
i tryed the other zeldas also but they dont work, mind you im trying the others (not DX) on windows emulator. I get my 3650 next week but if they dont work on the win emulator then i dont think they will work on goboy (get same problem u stated but on windows)
