Return of the Psion Series 5?

Nowadays we only tend to think about Symbian as being an Operating System for smartphones and forget it had its origins in the Psion handheld computers. As its a very quiet time (news wise) because its the run up to the Symbian Symposium I thought I'd post this link. According to this Inquirer article the Psion Series 5 may be revived by Pinnock Organiser Services. It is rumoured that they are in negotion with Psion to produce the machine probably with extra memory, an announcement is expected at the Symbian Exposium.

Ah the memories!

That would be good news for users who need power on the go but are daunted by convergence! The psio5 was a top class machine, let's hope they'll have spruced it up with a colour screen.

RAM wise, I think it was great so more will be greater!

If this is reality I'll definitely go for it. Maybe I won't even look back again to symbian phones...

Maybe this will be based around POS's 5MX pro, with the 32MB RAM with OS loaded off of compact flash. Series 60 Psion 5 anyone? 😃

LMFAO series 60 Psion 5??? Why cut down the OS? As for an updated series 5, I think I'll be getting a small cheap phone and getting this new 5 to replace my aged 9210.

If only they can use another cable for the screen..... (one without the quit useless little conception holes . The weak point where most of series 5 die, because that's where the screen cable breaks)

YaouanK, with 2 series 5 (and 0 valid screen cable. grrrrrrrrr)

Colour would be nice, but Bluetooth would be better...
