Looking in the sharedata folder at the .ini files, and opening the largest sized inin file, under the "WNoteImg" tab it lists a file with the path C:\system\data\welcomeimage.mbm, Now this file is loaded ( the handshake one ) at the start when you "boot" up your phone, therefore as mbm's are basically compressed .bmps files and can hold any number of bitmaps within one mbm file, what the phone is doing to get the animation at the startup is to "walk" through the various images to get an animation. Therefore if you can replace the bitmaps then you can create your own phone startup piccies.
The only problem is the welcomeimage.mbm file is a hidden, system file, does anyone know a way to view/copy this hidden file so I can disassemble it and make a funky new one? It is currently unviewable due to the hidden flag. Is there an attrib + command like in dos? any help appreciated
All file attributes can be set with SeleQ!

I know, but not if you cannot see the file in the first place beacuse it is hidden and a system file. I need to something that can view/copy this file.
Can you see the hidden files with SeleQ?

check THIS out ...
I had changed mine, but now I can't get the default handshake animation back, and can't find it anywhere on the phone.. oops 😞
just go back to the welcome image settings then choose default. 😊
I did.... didn't work... now I've just got no animation/picture at startup...

Try re-naming the welcome image slightly... then pick a new image for a welcome note reboot and then go back and choose default - if it works you can delete the old one you renamed...
Ok, it worked when I turned my phone on this morning - I now have the default animation back, but no welcome.mbm file is visible - must be hidden?
