Thumbnails - who needs em!!!!
If your happy with the name of the file telling you what the picture is then here is a good tip...
Create a file one byte big then rename it to the picture name and add the jpg extension... piccy.jpg then copy this file to the images_tn directory
On my phone I have 20 jpgs all approx 5k each, the thumbnails came in at around 4k each!!! which annoyed the heck out of me - so Ive saved 80k = another app to install 😊
Have fun!!!
Tony
How many apps have you installed to need all the free memory that you can get???
only problem is, as soon as you go to images, the thumbs all get regenerated... 😞

After having the phone for a few months everybody with a 7650 starts looking for ways to save memory on the phone. 😃
yeah everyone wants to have more memory for their 7650 because there are so many applications we want to have on the phone. i'm always having trouble trying to save as much as 500k free memory. I heard some phones hang or bogged down due to much memory space eaten up. :-?
Use space doubler for another option. i have saved up many MEM in my phone ever since i use this. 😃
Edgedale - I already use a Stacker so this is in addition to the savings you can get from these apps (750k appox on mine saved by stacker).
Evobit check the file names your giving the thumbnails - as It dosnt regenerate the images on my phone. I find it only only does that if there isnt a thumbnail file in the tn directory so I can only guess the names arnt identical, also not sure about how symbian treats caps so make sure to duplicate that aswell.
You can use the space for anything dosnt have to be apps - extra pictures, more contacts, video etc etc..
HI! ...
i have all the apps that i need on the phone, i use space doubler..
i still having 1.5 meg of free mem 😃
oh!.. BTW!.. i don't deleted the Thimbs yet 😉

- IM+
- Doris Browser
- YFTP Client
- Active Mail
- EProfiles Pro

- Screen Saver
- Task Manager
- Remote S60
- Splinter Cell (java game)
- 239 kb in Contacts (many of them with Thumbnails)
- 195 kb on images

And of course Space Doubler 😃
so.. after all tha installed i have free 1.5 meg.
sometimes i just connect to my FTP server where i have
some games and other apps, i download with YFTP direct to
my phone and install to play or use some app, but
anyway i keep having arround 600 to 900 kb. free...

forgot to add (though its sorta mentioned) if you want the thumbnail back delete the 1 byte file and next time you go to images it will be re-created

Which application is better stacker or space doubler? I would like to buy one of them and i would like your opinion. Thanks.
hey AEFOX: your list creeped me out!!! are you sure it's not my phone you have?!?! LOL 😃
as for which one is best, I've tried them both, and I've stuck to Stacker.... don't ask me why, I think both work fine! I didn't like the space doubler icon much... :-?
