had a 7650, and using the latest Nokia Video Cam app with it
was great (hantro, from nokia.com), mp4 quality was pretty decent, quite sharp.
just got a 3650, installed the latest Video Cam app (new Hantro
cos it has sound, the default vid app on the 3650 don't as you prob all know), quality is very washed out / blurred, and not as sharp as on the 7650.
tried using the app installed in both phone and MMC memory, saving video to phone and MMC etc, results are the same, very poor video quality.
also tried CamRec, again, poor vid quality coupled with skipping frame rates.
your advice / comments pls
i totally agree, but i can't tell you why it is like that.
It's because the contrast on 3650 frmware 2.50 is set to high.
Knock it down a couple of marks.
You'll see your pix look better too now.

are you talking about the display settings under phone settings?
it looks to be in middle, but do u mean that the middle on v2.50 is actually brighter than it should be?
Yes that's correct.
The middle setting is actually higher than on previous firmware releases.
It makes images look washed out and colourless - just kock it down a couple of steps darker and you'll see your display looks much better 😊

is it possible to use opera on o2 prepay gprs without setting up internet? just using wap though?
one of the things i first noticed on the 3650 was it was way brighter screen wise than my old 7650. so the contrast had to come down.
sad to say that it makes no difference to the sharpness of video on the 3650, it still looks terrible and a long way from the clarity of the 7650. it does enhance the colour a little though, nothing else. maybe i have a dud phone :-/

iit's not about the phone screen will brady ,
but really after having played well with 7650 and 3650 , i found that picture quality of camera is better on 3650, where else the video is better on 7650, and i'm sure it's not me who had a faulty phones, cause i've tried it with 3 3650!!! 😛

I can honestly say I can not see that the video is worse?
The only thing I noticed was the contrast was too high on a 2.50 3650.
Once that was corrected both images and videos on the 7650 & 3650 look the same to me - and believe me, I play a lot with the video on both phones...
But each to their own opinion 😉

I'm used to it now.. but I've come to realise i can't type anywhere else! Its a shocker. On the 6210 I was 'looking' for the keys! This is a shocker since I used to be able to type so damn fast.. at least I can type on my own 3650 though.
Yeah. That's bad for some people (including me). Especially if you are going to work with more than one phone. Siemens also use a non standard key layout for sx1 but that obviously is done to reduce the size of the phone, while on 3650 it seems (to me) that it is done to make more fancy looking (although it depends more on what you like). Do you remember 8850/8890? A real state of the art. But the keyboard was very hard to use for sms or for the snake game because of the tiny keys.... Things are different with 3650 (and far better to say the truth) but you need practice...

maybe in the future, all nokia phones will have that (UGLY) round keypad :P
And then you wake up... What a nightmare. Unless we are talking about the fall of nokia in the mobile industry.
there is contrast setting video playback along with options for looping playback but if i change these they revert back to stndard hence i need to change all the time?
also which setting do you mean for contrast? the video setting or the standard display setting?
