very cool built in camera , swing folder type , like sony clie
not much info yet, but i'll buy that if the phone has MMC slot :P
sorry about the pic quality, im too lazy to scan :P

here is some more information!

http://mobile.burn.com/review.jsp?Page=1&Id=291

Btw: it has also an mmc slot!

Well, its kinda old news and its a concept phone which means that we will wait a while until if ever its released.

i still like my 3650.... b4 this i was using true-i(sgh-t100) and then onwards im starting to be afrid of using samsung again.. sigh
Well, its kinda old news and its a concept phone which means that we will wait a while until if ever its released.
It will be released. It was in Cebit 2003

This phone looks really good! Are you sure it has MMC slot? I didn't see it in the specs!
cooL!!!!!!
ILL BUY THAT PHONE FOR SURE 😛
NOW I HATE THE LOOK OF MY 3650 😛
its a 3650 in a fold up disguise. everything is identical i reckon'.

but look at the lack of a blue menu button, its got a HOME button though.

Hmm. No bluetooth and no GPRS... 😞
Expected in 3Q 2003.
By that time we might see more exciting phone models to come. 😉

More memory, and a faster CPU then the 3650(Not sure about this one).

I will never buy a phone without bluetooth.

no bluetooth??? wow, that's too bad... I was hoping it has the same functionality with the 3650 or even better!

the new siemens sx1 will be alot better then samsungs sgh-d700
its got bluetooth, radio everything which the other series 60 phones have and more

i totaly agree that the siemen is much better than the panasonic but i hate the keypad layout
when i first saw the 3650 i fell in love and bought
so i might not get the siemens

ps when is the new 9000 series for nokia coming??

Man, if i'm gonna replace my 3650 (after i get alotta dough) it's gonna be the new Compaq iPaq, it's gonna cost alot! But i guess it's worth it, cause it can fullfil my multimedia needs (Buy a PCMCIA jacket with it's built in battery, that way i can load a Toshiba 5GB PCMCIA card, and have more battery power! Along with the Pda's GSM/GPRS capiblities! 😃)

The 3650 wins, by having a really LOW price (less than half the price for an XDA where i live)

Well,ST@RR,it should have better functionality then the 3650,instead of bluetooth it
probably has USB or some kind of connectivity, the camera is rotational,so its
possible to make vide call with it,and like i said,i think it has more memory and a faster CPU.
Well it may look good but i prefer the mitsubishi concept phone... Also shown in cebit.
Thats a "concept" aka it wont ever make it to production.

No bluetooth just doesnt do it for me! I dont care about radio and other goodies....bluetooth is vital and this phone doesnt have BT. 😞

Yeah, bluetooth is very vital today. Some companies like philips haven't even included irda but only bluetooth. I also don't like flip phones if the siemens didn't have that stupid keyboard now i wouldn't be thinking of the p800 (i currently have a 7650)

****CARE ABOUT BLUETOOTH!!!
that 's what i call feel in love at the first sight :P
the best phone i ever seen :P
ehehhe
but it better have the irda m, other wise how to synchronize :P
anywae , is thre phone already available ?

erm .. the page in the link that was given in the 2nd post says its got bluetooth and GPRS .. what u guys talking about ?

http://mobile.burn.com/review.jsp?Page=1&Id=291

I don't think this phone worths it! AT ALL! Shame on SAMSUNG! 😊 NO GPRS, NO BLUETOOTH and the LOOKS are CRAP!! (Eventhough pretty functional). 😞

GLOBAL: 5

It has GPRS,the little board behind it says so,but nothing about bluetooth.
P800 loking like a toy compared to the samsung,i dont think so.
It has a rotational camera and an SD slot,i dont think that makes the p800 a toy.
The p800 is here now,until the samsungs comes out,god know what will happen(Series 90 communicator maybe,i hope 😃 )

Snapshot by Randy Tan JH on Tuesday April 08, 2003.

Samsung SGH-D700
We first saw Samsung's first Symbian OS smartphone during our visit to CeBIT 2003. Known as the SGH-D700, we provide you now with a few more details on what this phone has to offer.

Running on Nokia's Series 60 Platform, the SGH-D700 takes on the features present in Nokia's 3650 and 7650 smartphones. The clamshell SGH-D700 supports GSM triband, sports a rotating 65,000 color TFT display, and a camcorder application to make use of its integrated VGA resolution digital camera. Like Nokia's 3650, the SGH-D700 allows users to exchange video clips through MMS or email and it will also be able to play back streaming audio and video through its pre-installed RealOne player. The SGH-D700 takes care of high-memory usage by including an MMC card expansion slot in addition to its 4MB internal memory space. The SGH-D700's compact size and low weight makes it the smallest Series 60 phone launched so far.

The Samsung SGH-D700 is expected to be available in European markets 3rd Quarter 2003.
