Hi since I am going to be in the Pub Meet where the Siemens guy will be presenting the SX1, can you post your questions about it so that I can ask/annoy 😃 the guy? I will try to ask him as many questions as I can and post them back for all of you.
Siemens SX1 question.
1.Usable memory of the sx1. 2.Available accessories after it's release. 3. What the package will contain(only the usual like the 7650 or it will be more rich like the p800). 4.Battery stand by duration a well as its capacity and if there will be any higher capacity. 5.Will Firmware upgrades be available for it like all the other symbian devices and if yes will we be able to do them on any pc with an internet connection and a cable or only through the service points (which are very few here in greece).... More to questions to come soon.
Oh and what software will be included on the firmware as well as separate on the cd that will come with it(if there will be any) as optional. And the software ala pc suite it's requirements from the pc and os as well as what will be able to do (eg. Backup, sis installation, contacts editor etc, etc)
Well, that is all i wanted to know 😃
the $$$ ?
Not the dollars but the euros...
Also how much ram it will have (considering that the 3650 has 3.2mb and 7650 4mb) and the cpu speed will it be the same with all the other s60 devices?(arm 104mhz)
Wrote them all down! 😃
Good. Now i cross my hands and wait. Ah don't forget to... Have a good time there (what did you thought, another question? 😃 😉 )
Good question for you to ask: Can Jordan take this one home with him?
Better question could be: how many of these could Jordan take with him to distribute between the active AAS posters? 😃 😃
I'm with Laura 😃
20 are enough for me aren't they. But for malebuffy one is just enough (number one you know) 😃
can i come 😃
Everybody is invited! As Jordan once said. We can buy the Siemens guy drinks and "borrow" the SX1 😉
Do Siemens intend to produce a higher spec device in a similar fashion to the Nokia 9210, or only Series 60 based devices?
They currently have the sx45 with ms os. (produced i cooperation with canon). I don't believe they are gonna produce a uiq or series 80 device. At least not in the very very near future.
I had a thorough talk with the Siemens Guy. I am writing this from a phone booth. I will report about it when I get back in about 9 hours. C ya. Some quick pointers. Its the same size as the 7650. Maybe a milimeter shorter. The release date is pushed back about 3 months. It will be ready for christmas though :-? The menu has changed. Icons and stuff. The sceen is a bit larger but this is due to the standart Siemens Battery and signal information. Java APIs can address the camera, which cant be done in othr devices. Correct me if I am wrong Pub meet ppl. The screen was awesom. There are currently 2 versions of the phone. The classic one, and a white one. I liked the latter better. CPU and memory specs are the same as with previous series 60 devices, but nothing is for certain. They may increase it. I take questions btw, but I will answer when I get back.
All in all this is a good phone and will probably be my next Series 60 phone.
P.S. Jordan if you read this dont forget to ask the Samsung guys about that email. Thanx
i am an active aas poster right?
what about the sound quality?? :P
I'm 99% that its stereo 😃
yea....they'd be really stupid if it's mono :P
but man christmas,i guess i have no choice but to get the 3650 untill sx1 comes out :-?
what about the sound quality?? :P
Sound was not ready on the device!
But it will be stereo!
for few new pictures go to

the screen looks totally awesome!!
the release date is now changed to christmas?
oh and what about the Camera??
will it be better then 3650's camera??
Guess what...they still dont know. But it will be a VGA one 640x480. It probably will be a better one.
I've a question...
Did you get a chance to try typing on it (as in an sms message etc)? Looks a bit awkward..
Also, the screen - is it the same quality as the 7650? I've seen the colour screen on two SE devices, and they look as though there is a fine mesh over them, like there is slightly more distance between pixels (dot pitch??) than on the 7650....
If it comes with better camera and more memory, I'm thinking this is my next s60 device!
65k colour screen with excellent pixel quality. Graphics look more "alive". Typing is the same as with doing it with the 3650....maybe a bit easier.
