Not bad at all... sometimes the html page layout gets fooked (as expected) but it does load all images and text.

What about it's size.Opera had announced that it's browser wouldn't be available for the 7650 due to it's memory limitations.Over1mb i guess.

@gr, indeed, 833kb... I'm sure it's great, but no room on my phone for that. Anyway, webviewer works fine for me 😃 (and it's 57kb)

Paul

Quite big,but it's a lot smaller compared to netfront v3.0,paul.I assume it supports javascript, ssl pages etc.How much free memory does it say you need to run the app?

Guys, its Opera! Its my opinion that the existing browsers for series 60 cant be compared with.
It was not intended for the Nokia 7650,that's why is so "big".

Deathmonger,or anyone else that has it,i would like your impressions from using it.I am willing to sacrifice a few apps i can live without for a "complete" web browser.

After deleting pretty much everything I got installed in the phone I haven't been able to run OPERA. I gives me a "not enough memory" problem. This is a software for the 3650 😞

/me cries a river :_(

Does not run on 3650 either, says not enough memory - even straight after powerup with no other apps running.

Hi

I had the same problem. Here is what I did....

1. After receiving the message with the app, try to install. After a minute or less appears the error "not enough memory".

2. Delete the message.

3. Go to "tools - manager". At the bottom of the list you will see opera60.sys. Double click on it. It will start to install.

That's it!

With my phone it works.

Regards

Yes - it's installed fine, I have a 3650 so the installation was not a problem, it just won't run 😞

Will

That doesn't make sense,guys.After all,it's not THAT big.There must be another problem.It can't be opera's memory requirements,especially on a 3650.

Just to clarify - we are talking RAM not disk space.
I have 100mb disk space on E: and 2.5mb on C: but it's RAM thats the problem here....

Will 😞

Maybe magic marker that was able to run the app,as it seems, can provide a solution. But it still doesn't make sense. An app for series 60 should run on series 60 phones!

Well, its not that simple, there were apps that made problems when the 3650 arrived and were not coded specifically for it.
The problem might be hardware wise(Not for opera i guess, but for apps that have direct hardware access),i dont know but lots of apps that were available for the 7650 were modified/optimized so they could work on the 3650.

Not true,i doubt that Opera would've released if they havent done some prior testing, carvalho reported it worked, allso there war reports about Opera working from the pub meet.

Well,i haven't tried it myself so i can't really tell. But both deathmonger and willbrady reported that they couldn't run the application.I really hope it works because i want to give it a try.

If I remember I will go and talk to them tomorrow to see if I can find out what the requirements are. For whats it worth Ive been running it without any problems. Its great!

Guys, this Opera version is freakin awesome. I installed it in my 7650 and it runs with no problem. I have 1.5MB free now.

Here is what I did to install:
- After I received the installer (.sis) file, I pressed install. It stopped because of the memory problem.
- I deleted the message from Inbox.
- Go to Manager->Scroll down->Press Install on the Opera s60.sis.
- Voila! The red "O"icon is accessible from menu.

This version for Series 60 does not only browse but it also has the ability to download files, images etc and saves them in your phone or MMC.

It supports Java and many more scripts. Believe me, this is a full web-browsing experience. Not a stripped down version.

I am writing a review about it and will be posted at www.mysymbianusers.com after I finished.

I have no problem running it. The small screen rendering technology makes websites look good on the 7650.

Thanks and best regards,

I can't find a crying icon - but believe me, i'm crying 😞
Why it won't run on my 3650 I just dont know 😞

Perhaps there a bug and it won't run off MMC - I'm gonna reinstall to the C:

Lets hope I come back smiling!!

Will 😞

Nope - installing to C: makes no difference 😞

Has anyone got Opera running on a 1.34 3650 ?
Perhaps it's my 'beta' fimeware 😞

Will.

.

hmm, I'm all for the ultimate experience on the 7650, but horses for courses: the 2 major limitations of the 7650 is screen size and memory. If you want it to do other things, the size of the app plus cache etc is a serious requirement (in principle OK for the 3650..?). And on this screen?

Without getting into the cost of GPRS again!

I browse a fair bit on the 7650, but use it to complement my use of the PC (in the same way I also have a 3 megapixel digital camera but also take snaps with the phonecam).

So far we have (I think) Webviewer, Doris, Netfront & Opera.

I know which one I'd like :P , but I know which one I'm using :-?

Sad to hear that you cant get Opera to run in both (mmc and phones memory)

I have not try installing Opera in the phones internal memory. I first installed it in the MMC and it worked like a treat.

Hope someone with the same firmware as yours will say something. I have 2.50 thats why I cant tell 😞

Opera is damn great. I just hope that they'll reduce down the price 😃

Actually a colleague of mine installed it as I was too busy to do it myself. 😉
