😃
I know one can't really compare them as Tracker for example does not have the Today's Task view (at the moment anyway)...and so on...
But they all combine several important tasks into one handy app...
For curiosity would like to see which app is most frequently used (or the favorite) as start up...
I haven't tested Tracker yet, so I'll stick with Handy Day. I don't like Active Desk though, don't ask me why.
I like HandyDay, but the one thing I like about ActiveDesk is that the Calendar, To-Do, and Message areas are variable size, so when you have 1 calendar item for the day, but 7 to-do's, you see them all (ActiveDesk lets you set a maximum number of items in an area, I believe).
Basically, I'd like the next HandyDay to add that, and clean up the buttons at the bottom, and I'd be happy.
As for me, Im testing tracker right now. Funny thing is, I use tracker and HandDay together. It reminds me of the Palm OS launchers.
I treat Tracker as the Launcher replacement and treat HandyDay as the Homer button 😊 In tracker I have the HandyDay Icon on the lower left corner, and on HandyDay I have tracker at the Lower left corner also, so I easily switch between them.
As for active desk. I already bought HandyDay and im sure they will come out with something like that also so Ill just wait 😊
I am more on the root of using Tracker as a task mmanager and desktop and using ActiveDesk for the calander stuff. Did not buy Handyday since I had a feeling ActiveDesk would come to P800. And i loved it on the 9210i.
Currently I'm using Tracker with Active Desk...
my choice tracker & active desk....but to tell you the truth i use more of active desk.
its got more use for me personally. i really dont need all those links when they are already listed out in applications.
for me tracker is just another form of listing for the apps that are already there in applications, only in smaller font.
but yes tracker has lots more stuff that are usefull...
my final verdict is Active Desk.
(P.S - i have not tried Handy Day... wil try it & let you know also)
ok tried handy day for a little while.
seems to be very basic compared to Active Desk.
My best choice is yet ACTIVE DESK.
Tracker & Active Desk in combination - thats a very good idea!
I'm currently using Handy Day with Tracker, just because Active Desk did not have as many features as Handy Day, but now since I can access IR easily in tracker and have most shortcuts in there, I might just try it in combination with Active Desk 😉
Im still trying out active desk right now 😊

Last time i had a hard time to choose among this two apps(activedesk and handyday) and i decided to choose handyday just because of the shorcut thingy... now with the released of TRACKER... i have to go back to activedesk...
😉 TRACKER is definitely THE ANSWER to all activedesk users!!!
I agree with you Nosferatu; a combination of Active Desk and Tracker is just very effective.
But I'm not fully satisfied with the fact that I cannot go straight to fx. my sms inbox from Active Desk's page. Instead I'm only directed to the main "Messages" section..
Surely Active Desk's overview is great, but I would be even more thrilled if I actually could go straight to that new sms or I could open that specific task, rather than just going to the main app. respectively!
It all may be impossible due to the way the p800 works...
What you guys think?
My thoughts
Active Desk
When i first saw this program, i thought -- WOW. AFter installing the demo and played with it for a few days, i thought -- THIS BLOWS (sorry if my language has offended people)
HANDY DAY
Only good thing about this program is the colour scheme.
TRACKER
Awesome program. Give it a few versions and i believe there will be many major improvements such as implementing colour scheme change and drag and drop as someone mentioned in the other post.
As for the moment, I have decided to pull out handy day already.. But im sure they will come up with something better also, we will just have to wait 😊
@ Nosferato
In your pics I see that you are using Active Desk 1.0 !
Try Active Desk 2.0 - It's way better and feels more proffesional and goes perfect with Tracker 😉
@ Contour
Agree, Although the overview of MMS, SMS, etc.. is great in AD, that only the main message window opens is a bit lame...
@ Everyone
Would like some backround pics for AD & Tracker! If anyone has a collection please share them 😃

Scac,
Actually, tapping on your tasks on Active Desk frontpage gives you the same "lame" experience, as it just opens up your main task window..
As far as I can see, only the calendar item on AD works "properly".....

Did not notice before! (I dont use any tasks at the moment)
Just tested it and yes your right...
Must be difficult to develop then...otherwise it would surely be implemented...
Next week Handy Day is planning to release version 2.7...
new is:
- Week View
- Advanced Task List
- Layout Customization
- Lots of Bug Fixes
- Lots of Improvements
hmm, advance task list sounds interresting indeed...they prob. noticed the success of Tracker 8)
I installed Active desk for a bit, but I just didn't like it. It seemed to try and do too much. I just want to know at a glance what I've got coming up and if I have any new messages. The whole background thing is just a waste of time (for me). I don't use wallpapers on the P800 or my PC, end of story. They just get in the way of the information and that's what PC's and PDA's are all about.
Handy Day has a nice, simple layout, shows me what I need and nothing (okay, not a lot) more. Perhaps a bit more customisation on the display would be nice, but these things are meant to make life easier. If they add too much functionality they risk becoming more trouble than they're worth.

Cool!! 😊
anyone with HandyDay 3.0 + Tracker 1.1?
I use BOTH Tracker and HandyDay 3.0 I think the 2 programs complement each other. I will wait and see if the new version of Tracker (which will include a "today" page) will be able to replace HandyDay. I think HandyDay has a more "elegant" appearance but I really like the "running apps", "filemanager" function of Tracker.
I like Active Desk because the font size is small and I get to read more on the screen. HandyDay's font size is the same as Nokia's calendar, so not much improvement. Haven't tried Tracker yet.
However, my Active Desk crashed my 3650 several times when it's the only program loaded. 😞
