New P800 case on P800er

Another case option, http://www.p800er.com/product.asp?id=51
Decently priced too, IMO.

:P Nice Price indeed!!!! but i bought my KRUSELL leather case at a cheaper price... and i'm quite happy with it...

Too little protection, what is the use of this case when the whole front is exposed? Krussel still the cheapest and best.

The design seems very flawed.. A good point is the concerns regarding the no face shield. Moreoever, when I zoomed on one of the pics showing a profile I noticed the stylus was hanging off the side in a thin leather loop. It appeared as if it could easily get caught on something and rip off or moreover break off. I wonder if they've done any 6 foot drop test with this case and a phone.. If this thing falls face flat on the floor the keyboad could exert enough pressure on the screen to puncture or create a surface scratch. It like the esthetics, but its very poorly designed on an engineering standpoint. I like my piel frama case in the fact that it has a flap that allows one to enclose the phone. I have dropped it several times and the case has cushioned the blows extremely well.

Well i found one and i think i will buy this, i dont like running around with the P800 inside the case or working with it inside it, so this is my option:

I don't understand how that case is an option for what you want to get away from... It appears to enclose the P800 entirely. You would literally have to remove the phone from the case to answer an incoming call or utilize it in any way. It seems pretty nice on the padding, but again, it lacks easy access to the phone. The thing I find quirky about total phone enclosure cases is that once you take the phone out for use what do u do with the case. These are things we dont think about, but are little inconveniences that one should consider.

For example, heres a scenario of something I was subjected to. Walking down a busy noisy street with a briefcase in one hand and the phone in the other. In cases like that a BT headset is not even an option. The phone rings and I have to first find out who is calling. I have to stop, put the briefcase down so I can use my other hand to remove the phone from the case. I then have to place the phone case and the briefcase in the same hand and commence walking while talking. However, once the conversation is over I have to revert back to the ritual and stop, drop the briefcase and place the phone back in the case then in my pocket. Whether you have a BT headset or not the one thing total enclosure cases will always eliminate is the visual display of the caller ID feature of the phone. I think thats why several phone manufacturers considered placing an LCD display screen on the outside of the flip phones and then design cases with an LCD cutout. Its the little ease of use stuff that marketing teams get feedback from consumers that utilize cell phones extensively. This translates to the PDA side of it as well. The piel frama case allows one to unsnap and flip the case lid with one hand. I usually fold the front flap all the way back where it is flush with the phone. It then feels like Im only holding the phone. I use my HBH-60 BT headset for phone use and keep the phone in my pocket and use the easy front access of the screen for PDA functions like browsing and email retrieval

I understand what you are saying, may be i explained my self wrong, and i am using the case on my belt, cause the idea of keeping it on my pocket makes me crazy to!! 😮 Well in the end what i wanted was to buy one from each but they are preety damn expenssive!! :-?

Small sacrifice for an expensive phone I guess.

Good point, that is why I like the krussel best, you can do everything with one hand, even snap pics, it is small. very lightweight and can slip into the pocket, so when I am carrying a briefcase and walking in the street, and get a call, out comes the phone and answer, all with one hand, no case to open or belt clip to undo.

Best of all, the Krussel case is only USD11.00 in Singapore, saves me a whole boatload of money compared to the PF case, which is also very nice.

I too have the krussell case and while I agree one can utilise the phone easily, I find it bulky when cased. I appreciate the phone itself is not small but it still feels comfortable in my hand when not covered. Maybe I've just gotten used to it but I tend to keep removing from it's case to use it (unless I'm simply answering a call). When using it with the front flap open, it seems to start sliding out at the bottom and I find it awkward. I've been thinking about the horizontal case but I was unsure whether is fits nice and snug into it and whether it protrudes too much from ones belt, and does it slip in and out smoothly? Can anyone comment? I know it doesn't offer the same level of protection, as the phone would be removed all the time, but I feel that's why I pay extra each month for insurance. I am paying to pass on the risk and worry to the insurance company, therefor I should not "over worry" about protection and ensure I get the best use of the phone.

Wait for the original SE pouch then, at least you can charge and use the earphone jack, when it is in the case.

I just bought the OEM P800 case from DOML (P800er) retail store today. IMO, the case looks much better than Brando's and better value too.

I waited and went to get one of these but didn't really like the look or feel when I got one in my hand. I have now obtained the Krussell horizontal case, which I really like. You can use the earphone jack while the phone is in the case. You can actually charge it while in the case if you flip the phone over but I'm not really bothered about that as I don't carry and charge simultaneously.

I don't think anybody should wait till the original case coming out. It's a must to protect our expensive phone.

First glance at both the piel frama and viao cases on P800er (and the Producer's site in much detail), I think piel frama protects the phone very well and nice handicraft, but it's too bulky on top of the oversized P800. Viao lacks the screen protection but very nice design and colorful.

I also physical tried different pouches from Armstation (all available on P800er) and I finally chose a cheap leather pouch with a belt clip. Light weight, business look (not fashionable though), easy access and adequate protection to my phone when I'm not using the phone. It's only less than $5 and I'm happy with it for over 1 month since I owned my phone.

I would vote for the Viao pouches if they can be slimmer and more protective even at $90s. It's nice that on their site they provide not only color choices but also embrossing customization.

Sorry, I mean Vaja I-VOLUTION. 😉

Check their web site at

LOL I thought Sony Viao released their cover for Sony Ericsson.. 😃 Scared me. Yeah, I'm definitely attracted to their designs, far more than other covers..

I got mine 2 days ago, and here is my "evaluation" of it:

It doesn't work in the sync-station due to the thickness of the leather, but you can recharge it while it is in it's case with the normal recharger.

You have access to all functions incl. jog-dial on your P800 and getting the stylus on/off is easy enough.

The Internet/Camera buttons are covered by the leathercase, but you can access these from the outside by pressing the "leather" buttons:

On the back I got my name printed for an additional 10$

Since the leather case is brand new, getting the P800 in and out was a bit tricky the first 4-5 times, but the case gets adjusted more easily now.

I used the Krussel case before, and I definitively love this case a lot more - not only because of it's design but also because of it's functionallity + access to every function and I can listen to my music with the headphone on.

You can't use the case with p800's keypad-flip, and you should definitively have a screen protector on, since it doesn't cover the screen. This is in my opinion great, since I don't have to take it out of it's case to use it.

Also you don't have to take it out of it's case to make/receive phonecalls - it doesn't loose any sound quality during a phone conversation while it is in it's case. I had to take my phone out of the krussel case to make/receive phone calls due to quality-loss.

So here is my list of + and -

+ (plusses)

1. Great design - unique and more "sporty" and definitively less conservative than the Phiel Frama/Krussel

2. Full access to all functions and screen

3. You really feel it's quality

4. Like the feature of having my name on it (makes it even more personal) and being able to choose the colors I like

5. You can get it with or without belt-clip

6. Feels very secure while it is in the case which really has a "firm" grip on the phone

- (minuses)

1. It is expensive - damn expensive

2. It needs a little use before it slips in and out easily

3. You need a screen protector

4. It takes 2 weeks to get it if you want it personalised with your name/color

5. It doesn't work in the sync base

I have tried a very high quality case from Piel Frama. . .unfortauntely is enclosed the phone entirely and the only way to answer the phone is to open the case. I wrote the company to tell them that they should design a case that has a protective plastic cover like the case from Krusell. . .but they didn't seem too interested in what actual customers had to say! The owner was quite dismissive in his return e-mail to me. Anyway it is clearly designed for a PDA rather than a phone. SO I DON"T RECOMMEND BUYING THE PIEL FRAMA CASE.
