I have been trying to convert video to use on the standard video player. I want to work out how to convert a video to nim format without using the Nokia Multimedia converter. Even the latest multimedia convertor gives pretty shitty quality. I have used virtual dub but cant get it to compress the video with the H.263 codec needed to play on the 9210. In virtual dub it says the h.263 codec may be locked. I really want to try and convert video to a very good quality such as the ET clip on Patrick Dohertys website. Has anyone had a go at making good quality clips? (The MM converter pro wont do this)
Nim Video Player
yeah this i would love to know too!!!
I think the ET clip uses low framerate (only 7.5fps)
I've tried a whole bunch of different settings with MM pro and put the best results on http//nokia.warlocks.benokia.warlocks.be</a>
If you use a quallity level of 5 or (really good) 3 and make the images just a bit smaller, you can get a very good clip with 10fps ![]()
And most important the filesize stays limit ![]()
I hope this helps.
I think some of my clips are better then the ET one. ![]()
BTW the H.263 codec is indeed something strange, I've never been able to use that codec in any software. But since their are much better codecs, I didn't really care ![]()

What is a "Nim" format?
NIM is Nokia Interleaved Multimedia, video format for various Nokia phones, using H.263 codec. 9210i do not have enough performance to play videos larger than 120x90x6fps using H.263 codec. I do prefer RealMedia (.RM) files to watch videos in 160x120x8fps in RealPlayer. RealPlayer doubles its height and width during play, so it's very confortable to watch.
