anybody out there have a program for p800 that enables it to be used as a universal remote control for TV sets?a friend said he got a program for his palm pilot that allowed him to use his palm pilot as a TV remote control...following that,he said the p800 most likely also has the same program...just havent found it yet...anybody help? 😃

not yet available/ out of stock. i've searched for the 128 duo in ghills and rob galleria, all they have is the 64mb duo, which sells between Php 4,500 to 5,000. It's more expensive at the SE shop in SM north which sells it for Php 7,000.00 ! One shop says the 128mb duo would be likely available next week, around Php 6,500 to 7,000. I'll post once they're available, in the meantime i'll try to enjoy my 64mb!
re: the smartphones, I think the P800 is still the best! the one advantage of smartphones is its bright screen.....and thats all (no bluetooth btw ). the closest rival to the P800 is its brother which will be released late this year, i think its called NEONODE, made by the guys who designed the P800!..... I also saw on CNN a new version of smartphone with new OS from microsoft, i think the OS is called STINGER and its an improved version of the smartphone.........
The 128MB ones only cost $75 in the U.S., and i'm importing a couple.
As for "free" games like Strategic assault (like command and conquer) and Talon (arcade shooter) as well as the "desktop" software like handy day and tracker, do a search in the yahoo groups for "p800". You'll find TONS of stuff.

The Neonode is made by another company, and is a crap toy.
Stinger is the original name of the current Smartphone OS. It sucks so bad people called it "Stinker" so MS changed the name to "Canary".

From which site are you ordering it from? And, how much are they charging you for shipping, I'm guessing it all adds up to almost US$115+++.

you can upgrade the firmware by going to any semicon branches or in sony ericsson service center in makati. they will charge you PhP500 for that.

No difference probably... just different profit margins... have asked around lately and prices have been completely different... but the product's the same. I got mine for 6,500 from this dude who advertised in yahoo forums just recently. Works perfectly.
i went to SE service center in makati yesterday to check the mic of my phone. i also asked them about the rumors that SE is going to release the successor of P800 which is the P810. She said that there are already plans of releasing the new phone before the year ends, but she did not tell me whats going to be the model of thenew smartphone. by the way, mineral grey colour casing is already available here in makati.
