Using PC Suite without your 3650 connected to it

I have PC Suite on my desktop. I have no infrared, bluetooth or any other connection between my 3650 and my desktop (my laptop is OK--it has infrared and I can use PC Suite between my laptop and my 3650 without any problem--and no, I do not have my laptop and desktop networked with each other). My problem is this: To use PC Suite for the first time it has to communicate with the 3650 or it will say no phone is connected and you have to connect a phone first before you can use it. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can activate it for the first time. I have an MMC reader and can transfer files between my desktop and my 3650 using the MMC reader but I cannot use PC Suite at all on my desktop. Thanks for any ideas.

Hm,i didnt understand at all,but will say, that go to mRouter>select infrared or Bluetooth connection and all will be OK

I'll try to explain again. IF you try to use PC Suite for the first time it will ask you to select the ports on your computer you want to you to search for devices so it can make a connection. I tried what you suggested and it says unable to make infrared connection, blue tooth etc. Any ideas?

PC Suite needs some kind of connection device. An MMC reader is not included in those. So it seems the only option you have is to buy either a BT or IR device. 😊

OK, that is what I thought I would need to do. I ahve one but I cannot get it to work on my PC--only my laptop. To get it work on my PC I think I would have to reinstall Windows. No other solution you can think of?

IR devices is not something I have played around with. Will have to get someone else try and help you on that one. sorry 😉

I am almost certain that if you post details about your device etc, the guys (and ladies) in here will be able to better help you with your question.

You must connect PC with IrDa or Bluetooth.I use USB to IrDa port. 😃
It's not to expensive and I think it is better than MMC card readed

When I try to connect/install my USB IRDA to my PC the PC recognizes new hardware has been added. It then searches for the software for it. I get a message saying that a file called: 'IRFTP.exe' cannot be found and I need to insert my Windows ME disk (I know that this is also a problem that I use ME--but I will get XP soon). It then searches for the file--and I have searched my whole system and it never can be found. I then cannot connect/install my USB IRDA. Any ideas?

Try to spoof the system. There should be ini files that PCSuite creates once the connection is established. They will be either in the PCSuite directory or in the windows system directories. (Maybe somone more familiar with the internal workings of PCSuite can point where). Try copying those files over to your PC (they are small floppy is enough). Of course back up the original ini files on your PC before you experiment like this.

why would you want to use pc suite without a connection? There is nothing you can do with it.

You can add a new device in the registry...
