Enlarging Thumbnail Pictures on the 3650/7650

moyboy, just be patient 😊 About the SX1,i don't know(I doubt it though),but you can query some dudes that were lucky enough to play with it on the Pub Meet and Exposium.
Am I missing something here? My 3650 allows me to place a thumbnail AND a screen-sized photo on each vcard. Or am I the only one with this feature? I use screen-sized version for both. So the simple solution (like I know Symbian!) is to call up the bigger version instead of the thumnail when there's an incoming call.

The full-sized versions looked compressed, not as good quality as when viewed with the photo viewer. But it's better than nothing!
i was thinking the same thing... that can not be so f***ing difficult... all you developers around here... get bizzy! :agrue: 😃

For those of us who do not understand, Moyboy, what is a Vcard? How do you put both a thumbnail and big picture on the VCard and how would you call up the bigger picture when you wanted to.....like when a call came in? Please explain as i am not very clear on this. Thanks 😃

A vcard is each person/business you input to your phone, which can include multiple phone numbers and email addresses. You can add a thumbnail to each of these when you're in edit mode. Just click Options and you can either add or remove a thumbnail. When you're brosing for vcard entrys (not edit mode), you can scroll right and a space would pop up for you to add a full-screened image for that card. The thumbnail and bigger photos can be different images.

As of now there're no way to call up the bigger photo, but I can't imagine it would be too differcult since we already have the options of inputting both.

Thanks. Yes, I new about adding normal size images---although I did not realize that the location I was entering it was a vCard. You must be right that it should not be too difficult to call up bigger images instead of thumbnails--as an option--for incoming calls. Especially as it almost already exists. Once again, I call on any of you Symbian developers to get busy on this. This is a great app and one that people would pay for (I imagine). Does everyone agree/disagree with this? :agrue:

😃 😃 😃

Sorry, all mighty GhostDog, I will go to my corner now and await my punishment 😃

@peter: Yes, this is a feature of an application I am creating (more info is in the 7650 forum under "Changing the Menu Icons?" thread.

Cheers
Are you developing this app J2K?
Yes peter,or GhostCat,whatever you like,he is.

GhostCat is in the past.....it was fun while it lasted but I knew the IP address would giv eme up to an Admin. I will stick with my current handle. I will take a look at the 7650 thread you mentioned. The app sounds interesting. My biggest challenge now (as I am sure you have seen from my frantic postings) is encoding videos. Having some big problems. Very frustrating but learning everything I have ever wanted to know about video formats, codecs, players etc.

Just for the record peter, people with five gray buttons under their username(Like j2k or ME 😊 )usually are Moderators or Admins.

Encoding videos has been really covered in the forums.Just use the search function.

I understood that was the case. When J2K gave me up publicly I knew it was time to retire the stolen (yet reversed ) avatar. It was fun while it lasted but now it is time for you to reclaim your avatar and start using it again. BTW, I tried J2K's Betaone. Works great, now waiting for the enlarging thumbnail feature which hopefully will be in the next version. That is a feature long overdue and the reason that I started this thread.

Thanks for saying you thought Beta One was good 😊

New version out shortly.

BTW: It wasn't me who gave you up, it was Jordan 😉

Cheers

Sometimes Nokia is just so stupid. Like this thumbnail thing. I can't see the point in the function. The thumbnail is so little that you can't even see who's calling
