One feature that seems to be lacking on both the 3650 and the 7650 is the ability to enlarge thumbnail pictures so that when you add them to the contact details of someone a big picture (one perhaps that would cover the whole display) would appear when they called you. In addition to this big picture their phone number and name could also continue to appear as they currently do. This feature (which I assume does not exist since I have been unable to enlarge the thumbnails--or add any images to my contacts except thumbnails) would be a great feature to have. Does anyone out there have any ideas how to do this? Is there any third party software out there that will do this? If not, why don't some of you whiz kids try to develop it. It would be great to have. Does anyone agree with me?

I really thought this was a good idea and a good question. Doesn't anyone else want to be able to enlarge thubnail pics of their contacts to be fullscreen pics when calls come in? Maybe not the killer app I thought it was.
There is no way to enlarge it.
That's too bad it would be a good feature to have. Why doesn't someone develop it. I am sure it can be done realtively easily by someone who knows what they are doing.
you want bigger thumbnail??? i wish there would be a feature to off it! because it eats up space! larger thumbnail means larger memory will be consumed... get the idea??? no thumbnail makes our memory feel relax =o)
Well, it's a good suggestion... but nobody has ever made an app like that yet.

Well, I think He's got a 3650 in which case, they don't mind about the memory. Besides, I think that what he wants is an app that would enlarge the thumbnail only when it rings. Thus, the storage would still be the same as that of the thumbnail.
or maybe not thumbnail he is looking, making the ordinary picture to become the picture on the contacts and on viewing it will become thumbnail and when someone called, the big picture will appear, cause if you make the thumbnail big enough, it will show pixelized, and the result will be bad...
picture small + make enlarge = pixelized
picture big + make resize to small = better picture quality
how's that???
yes I have a 3650 with q 128 mb mmc. Memory is not an issue. Nor should memory be an issue as it would take up no more memory on the mmc than typical images do. When the phone rings and an "enlarged thumbnail" pops up (one no bigger than a normal size image) it would take up some RAM but this would only be a temporary issue I guess. I really wish someone would develop this. Does anyone else agree?

we have some great and skilled programmer here in the philippines but i dont know anyone who knows how to program in symbian c++ 😃

I would just like to see the large image that you can store in the phonebook appear on screen. It would not take up any more phone memory and with a 128MB MMC you could have pics for your entire phonebook and then have 3 times the mem you need for you apps.

Thre's this guy in this forum "ivomir" whose FW is already 3.13... he even posted a screen shot here of his FW. I don't know if it's true though. Anyway, you can ask him if his thumbnails are any bigger... to stop the speculations.
Great idea to enlarge the thumbnails to regular size pictures when the phone rings. Won't take up additional memory. Don't believe it is in the new firmware. I have had my phone flashed and I cannot do it. Can anyone else who has the new firmware?

does anyone knows whether the sx1 has big thumbnails?
Am I missing something here? My 3650 allows me to place a thumbnail AND a screen-sized photo on each vcard. Or am I the only one with this feature? I use screen-sized version for both. So the simple solution (like I know Symbian!) is to call up the bigger version instead of the thumnail when there's an incoming call.
The full-sized versions looked compressed, not as good quality as when viewed with the photo viewer. But it's better than nothing!
