I got this MMC reader few days ago,but sometimes or well most of the time when ever i start my pc insert the mmc in to it the light turns on that its reading the mmc and everythings fine
but whenever windows starts like after 1 or 2 min the light turns of and it stops reading the mmc?????
why does that happen btw im using windows xp
its really irratating maybe when I restart the computer 4 or 5 times then it might work when windows starts,now im not sure that if theres something wrong with my pc or is it the mmc reader that dont work
anyone else ever had this problem?

Does your PC motherboard have a VIA Chipset?

how can i check if it does have a VIA Chipset or not? :-?

VIA is a manufacturer of PC motherboard, and have problems with USB devices, showing the symptoms you have.

Go in Device Manager (Control Panel -> System -> Hardware) and go through all the options, see if VIA shows anywhere.

If it does you can get a firmware upgrade to fix it.

Was the MMC reader recognized by your PC? Like new hardware found or something?

I don't think so... I'm using XP also and everything works fine. I use the Twinmos card reader... Try using another reader to find out if your reader is busted.

First thing to try is the same reader on a different PC. This will tell you wether it's a problem with your PC or the reader. If you do not have this possibility then return the reader in exchange for a different one but of the same model (return as a defective). Then use it and see if mayhaps it was defective.

Hi there,

hope you can help me, i just bought a twinmos reader, once i insert the "mmc" it just light up, then suddenly freeze. Does anyone experience this?

specs:

Twinmos 8 in 1
3660 Nokia
16mb mmc
win 98se

try uninstalling and reinstalling the reader if this does not work u mite wanna think about having the company replace it if it is under warranty

I am using 3650 since 5 months and i make transfer of files through MMC its working very fine in windows Xp and it is wrong to say that it is Operating system dependent i am sure it will work in same manner as in Xp
