SMART settings for email

I noticed that a lot of the posters here are Pinoys(from the Philippines). 😮 Anyway, I was wondering if you could access your web based mail(like Hotmail) on the 3650? I have a pre-paid sim, SMART Buddy. I f anyone knows how, please post the exact steps to enable this. Thanks..

Oh? Well, that sucks. How about normail POP3 e-mail? Ever tried that here in the Phils?

yeah. i use globe so I don't know the settings of smart. Anyway, you put the pop3 address of your account , mine is for example PLDT so, pop.info.com.ph and the smtp address of smart... just ask them for their smtp address.

You can check/send on any Pop3/smtp account that allows access through a mail client (i.e. Outlook). Hotmail does not allow this. What you need are your account server settings (incoming/outgoing) and your username and password. For Access point use any internet access point for your phone (i.e. the one you would use for Opera browser etc.).

If you are interested there is a free service in Russia that allows reading your mail though a client. www.mail.ru

You can check your hotmail using WAP or GPRS though, point the browser to http://mobile.msn.com/pocketpc then select MSN Hotmail from the menu...you have to log in the first time round but after that my 3650 seems to remember the login details and jumps straight to your mailbox on subsequent times

yes, you can do that also. But for the email settings for your phone, hotmail is not applicable.
