expanding memory?

Is there a way to increase internal memory for the 3650? The highest I could clear up is 3.2 mb of free space (deleting).

Any specific programs or hardware that can help me from running out of memory?

Oh and anyone know hot to remove those stupid promo/shareware products?

Space Doubler or Stacker would help but somehow i got the hint that he wants a biger memory chip,My Bad 😊

yeah. SDoubler slows down the phone... Anyway, the best thing that he can do is install his apps on the MMC to free the phone memory.

yup, been installing everything on the mmc. Just trying to clear as much room as possible for phone memory so I can run games without glitches.

How does the memory work for the 3650? Is the 4 mb phone memory stock (built in ram) that cannot be changed.... Or is that 4mb of memory taken off the MMC? (i have a feeling it is stuck at 4mb ram).

What are your oppionions about stacker and doubler? I know they slow the phone down a lot, but do they also slow the games down? Is there a on off switch in turning the program on or off?

Sorry to bother you all with questions, thanks for the answers!!!!

OK I kinda have the same question:

I know you can free up storage space from the internal drive (C😊 by moving everything to an external MMC (E😊. What I want to know is if the internal RAM is expandable because some of these programs I'm running (or trying to run) are memory-hoggers. I can't run more than 2 of them simoutaneously. Are there any software-based solution like some kinda virtual memory programs?

The memory "doublers" are not really. They only compress the things stored in memory. So they will free up some but will not give you more then there is. However what could be possible is to create virtual RAM from the storage on the MMC. This would have to be a software solution like the EMS and XMS stuff for MS-DOS. Jimmy got a point currently there are no such solutions.

With memory doublers you meant Stacker and Space Doubler, right? They are not meant to do anything to the RAM,so i really don't know why have you envolved them in this discussion.

BTW: Stacker and Space Doubler really do help with internal storage problems.I can install quite a bit more apps with using Stacker and still have lots of free space left then without it.

Stacker and space doubler don't "slow down your system". What they do is compress each app so it doesn't take so much space in your "normal" memory... as for the system slowing down, I don't think that's what happens... it just takes more time opening your apps since they need to be decompressed before being executed/run... I think that they take some space in ram since they should need to be running while the app is running so that they automatically recompress it after one quits the app.... wow... that was confusing... ...try reading it a couple more times and you'll get the point... 😉

Right heres a tip.
Assuming you want more RAM and not DISK SPACE.

Install sLauncher and make it active.

Turn OFF the phone and insert the charger

Wait untill the charging indicator comes on and push and hold the menu key
Launcher will launch - BUT NOW LOOK AT THE RAM INDICATOR!!

You will get about 4.6 MB of RAM compaired to the 2.8 you normally get because the 'telephone' application is not running.

Press the menu button again to access your menu..

You can now run your memory hungry games loke Doom or applications like Opera with ease! 😊

Not sure if this is a well know tip, but I find it quite usefull for playing doom without it crashing all the time 😉

Best

Thank you Willbrady for actually knowing what my question means. People, SDoubler and Stacker are compression softwares that deal with PHYSICAL storage space, not RAM!

Anyway can't I just quit the phone in the SLauncher menu? And what if an incoming call comes when my RAM is full from my games?

And where exactly is the memory physically? Is that something us end user can replace easily? Or is such service even available from any mobile vendor?

I can't understand why Nokia would install this little RAM in a unit this expandable!

If you 'kill' the 'telephone' application from within sLauncher the phone crashes..

I dont think you can receive calls in this mode as the phone application is not running, thou never tried....

Never heard of this being upgradable..
