Can anyone tell me the settings for Orange Pay as you go WAP services? I had them before but since i had my firmware upgraded (and therefore the settings wiped) Orange refuse to send them for a second time...the bastds
I think my phone is 'data enabled' cos i can send mms, no probs.
Any help appreciated on this subject.

lee, could you not do a restore from PC suite? you can choose to import settings there.
Paul
(sorry, don't know about Orange payg settings)
Unfortunately, PC Suite doesn't get on very well with my Bluetooth adaptor and trying to get the two to connect is a major hassle. I have backed-up to pc before but am as yet unable to restore! 😞 Anyway, i won't go into pcsuite/bt problems because that's another story (and loads of threads already on this frustrating topic! :x ).
I think PAYG GPRS is a fairly new concept, so there's no word of it in my manual or the online one at orange.co.uk I suppose i'll just keep pestering Orange until I speak to someone stupid (only a matter of time on those helplines) who'll send me the settings.
Cheers anyway Paul. 8)

do you have an IR port? I haven't got into BT due to everything I've seen here on the topic 😮
Or, try speaking to the Nokia national helpline, and ask for somebody from "data" - they probably know the settings you're after. They helped me with the email settings for my operator.
best of luck Paul
No IR port unfortunately, but will try to speak to Nokia direct.
Thanks Paul! 😊
If anyone else does know the settings, please post! 8)
Cheers

Try these, not sure if they are PAYG or Contract:
GPRS Access Point Name (APN): orangewap
User Name: (blank)
Password: (blank)
WAP Gateway: 192.168.71.35
Still no luck i'm afraid. The message i get is "GRPS: GPRS not available. Check network settings." when i try to connect. I'll phone Orange later today (busy at work right now) and let you know how it goes.
Thanks
Lee

Well, i phoned them and they were a bit confused and couldn't understand why i needed them again, but i eventually prised the settings from them! Hoorah!
I think the person from Orange in the call centre was a bit on the stupid side. Couldn't understand why i had to format the phone and seemed confused by the whole firmware upgrade thing :silly: . Thank god i have this forum, phoning those clowns everytime i had a problem would be a nightmare.
