I'm amused how some enthusiasts (and I've fallen into the trap a few times, I admit), because they want to make their hobbies sound important, refer to their phones or PocketPCs as 'Mobile Devices'.
Now, I know that a phone is a mobile device, but are you the type who refers to your phone, all the time, as a 'Mobile Device'; "Oh, hang on, my mobile device is ringing"?
Sometimes, when I read articles and comments, I want to say "Look! It's just a friggin' phone! It doesn't impress the girls by calling it a smart phone and nobody's going to want to sleep with you because you have VPN!".
Anyway, cast your vote and tell me if I'm being a grumpy old man! :P
In an obsure referenece to BBC Sc-Fi from the mid eighties, it tends to be "Box."
I voted for the plain phone although I must admit I often use the more specific word 'my communicator'. Or some abbreviated, 'pet' name like komukka (in finnish obviously). This has absolutely nothing to do with me wanting to show off or anything 😃 . It's just what the phone is called....
If someone would actually say something like 'my Mobile Device is ringing' I think I would roll on the floor with laughter. I would imagine he had great sense of humor. Of course that would not a bad way to start...hmmm... anything 8) But in the unfortunate event that he was not joking, well, too bad.
"my phone", plain and simple!!! although i do have lapses, thus i tend to call it "my brick".

The other week, i was talking to my mate about my 7650 and I did indeed call it an 'extension of my manhood'!! 😃
So although i've only used the phrase once, i'll vote for that in the poll.
However i usually call it my 'nokia'.

i call it my phone but i don't know why all my frinds call it (they only call my 7650) the XT2K
most my frinds have 3650s or P800 (i'm the only one with a 7650)

I voted phone.I don't call it a phone because in my country we don't have a word for phone.We use telephone for everything,we say mobile telephone 😊 BTW: I sometimes call it with female pet names,like Jana 😊

My computers were called Mila and Angelina but in a bad state of mind couple of months ago,i renamed mila to Decay-(Insert loads of random numbers here) 😃

The only machine in my house that has a human name is the one that mows the lawn. It's called Mr Huselius (it's Husqvarna and it's great.

I used to call game characters in GTA (and others) after girls I liked in real life.
Of course made the mistake of copying that game for my friends 😃
