The Nokia Communicator, aka the 92x0 has another great software program available to its users, that we, mere users of the 3650 (and its sister, the 7650) can not get our hands on 9or at least cannot get get it to work with our phones because it is not compatible. I understand that SmartProfiles (by Symbianwares) is a great program. I however, can not use it on my phone since I have a 3650. Is there anyway the us 3650/7650 users can have this program? Perhaps a GPS programme would do the same thing?

Peter, this is not exactly accurate since the Communicator has been out for quite a lot longer then the S60 phones. You can only compare after a significant amount of time the phone has been on the market. It looks like most of the software is being ported to the S60 phones.

I did check my facts GhostDog. I have learned to do that with you lurking around. On the Symbainwares site (which Hera graciously guided me to) I searched for SmartProfiles and it said the only compatible device is the Nokia Communicator. Unless that website is wrong and has not be updated, I fail to see how one using a Series 60 phone, specifically a N6560 or N3650 can use Smartprofile. Regarding the head start the Communicator had as a platform I soemwhat agree with that. My understanding from Nokia's marketing people in Beijing is that the 7650 and 3650 were in the pipeline well before the Communicator and specs, codes etc. were made available to a select circle of developers before the Communicator. Anyway....the point is moot. I just want to know how i can get SmartProfiles for my 3650.
I clicked the link Hera posted and it took me straight to a download page for SmartProfiles for the 3650/7650. Hmmmm...
so wat the different between smart profile and eprofile?
Darn it peter,when you go to SymbianWare's website,just click on the 3560 icon and you will get a list of available products in which you will find SmartProfiles.
BTW: Series 60 devices(Nokia x650) before the communicator!??! I find that hard to believe.The first 9XXX device was released ages ago!
