I uploaded some stuff for 7650, wallpapers, MIDI ringtones, and some applications... if u wanna check out, here is the link

website removed by j2k: warez content found

2nd edit by j2k: changed subject to prevent people guessing the URL

Perhaps a mod should consider editing the subject, it's still fairly easy to find the place GDA was referring to.

nice try

Difficult one this.
Yes, it would get rid of a lot of aggro with wares etc. but what about the developers that come in as a guests and announce new apps or are looking for beta testers.
Overall I agree, no guest posts, but the AAS mods/admins will have to think of a way new developers etc. can contact them direct, then they can post as they feel appropriate.

It only takes 2 mins to sign up - if they want to sell us their apps I'm sure the devs would do this 😊

I agree - lets lose the guests 😊

wow, i didn't realise i was like the first one to come up with this idea, if developers take the time to make such software, i'm sure spending another 2 minutes won't make much of a difference, known developers could get a pass or something to post as guests if they seriously can't be arsed registering. although some people posting warez sites now are registering before posting and then just using that account for just that job...that might not make sense but you get the gist of it.

...though getting a "guest pass" would probably mean more work when compared to plain old registering! 😃

** Magic **

Hmm,

Rafe and the senior Admins did look over this issue (guests allowed to post) a few months ago when we had some problems with warez and unwanted posts. The conclusion was that the site would have more to loose if guests were disallowed than if the mod team just bit the bullet and did their best to keep up to speed.

Of course, reasoned discussion is always appreciated - and we can be ewasily swayed if you're right!

in the log in screen to make posts, you shoudl add a little function which just requires the first line of coding which developers use for their program, then it would identify them as a developer and let them in? it would work temporarily and it would mean that people who post warez will need to research some coding before posting here, but by the time they've adapted, you could make it more advanced as over that period of time, ydevelopers who post here would get used to it and understand if you made it more complex, therefore warez posters who don't know how to programme stuff will have no chance
