Wouldn't it be good...

...to have a program that searches your text messages? I have over a thousand messages on my phone, it would be cool to be able to filter messages based on people's names, or what has been said, or what date it was received/sent. Sound good?? Or has it been done?

I would have thought not only is it possible, but it would be a small program? I don't know, what do you think?

😉

ummm, why do you store so many text messages? i back mine up every night and delete ones a week old,

even if u back up yea, then when u restore it do all the msgs come the way u have stored them or wht ? plz tell me this 1 ? is there a way where u can only backup your msgs.. 😊

Going back to badger's original question, i too think this would be a good app, i store loads of messages too (not 1000 mind you! 😊 ). 'Lookup' is the app that does this for phone numbers, so why not a small development of the app for inbox filtration.

I guess that developers are not too keen because:

1) limited market, not many ppl store msgs on the phone
2) backup facility as described above exists
3) it would probably end up as freeware, so no financial incentive

Hm...I thought people stored messages...I think it's pretty cool to look back on the last few months of your life in your messages 8)

I thought it would be a nice little project for a developer...nothing too taxing really I would have thought?

The backup thing...you can't look at the messages can you??? My backup files just seem like a load of random unopenable files. Am I missing something here?

i've not been able to upload the messages back onto the phone, but i don't use nokia suite, i use message saver
