P800 vs Nokia 6600

Does the 6600 use UIQ? Its also symbian 7 but only has 6mb memory. It does have an MMC expansion. This is finally Nokias rival agains the T68i or T610.

I think it looks good but its a phone and not a PDA. So P800 is still the best! 😊

It's not a PDA but it's a PIM. I shure like to have

Digital camera with zoom
Video recorder & player
Java MIDP 2.0
65,536-color TFT display

in my P800, at least the software dependent ones, at the very least MIDP 2.0.

But if i have to choose (don't know the 6600 price) i'll still go for the P800 😉
It is more of a competitor to the Siemens SX-1
and the SE t610 😊 Built in 6mb just wont do, I have around 800 contacts and I dont think 6 mb will do 😞

Nah, its not a good comparison in the first place, it is a good phone, in fact I think it is one of the best phones out there, perhaps I will change my mind once I actually try it.. but in all it just won't do for me. :robot:

I don't think it uses UIQ,Series 60 from the look of it,2.0 maybe?!?

Nokia's rival to the t68i or the t610?!?!Competitor to the t610?!?I don't think so!The t610 is way below, its just a phone!!It uses the same OS as the t68i if you can call that an OS.

The 6600 is a smartphone and like you said it runs on Symbian.I'd say that the t610 and t68i are more in the class of the Nokia 7250.

The good thing is that Nokia 6600 can use all the apps that are out for 3650 and 7650. I read that except 6 MB phone memory its include a 32 MB MMC, sounds very fine but I will not change my P800 for it.

I've already ditched the P800 in the hope that the replacement for the 7650 would be good enough. 6600 seems to be, I'm glad I sold my P800 while it had high 2nd hand value

That was a bit too soon perhaps. It says on the nokia website that this won't be released until 4th Quarter... You gonna have to wait a little I guess 😃

same old nokia style. im not even interested with their upcoming phones. 😮 but im sure here in the philippines 6600 would be a blast.

i think that PDA with touch screen in a mobile would best fit as a smartphone rather than one with camera zoom and video player. I have tried Nokia 3650 and the recorder sucks and zooming for the camera doesnt help much to the quality of the picture. The only rival to P800 would only be a PDA, touchscreen, 2.0 mega pixels zooming camera with flash all in a symbian phone....if there is any.....😊 If anyone is really particular about the video recorder and camera, i suggest buying a seperate Video Cam and 5.0 Mega pixel digital Camera.......cheers!

I'd tend to wait for the P800 successor. Rumour has it that it has a 2MegaPixel camera and far greater storage. 😃

I agree, its not like we can't wait. 😃

Have a look at

for a concept for a new phone

PDA with a touch in a mobile is more a PDA then a smartphone hence the p800 is a PDA - SmartPhone combo. The 6600 is a Smartphone.

BTW:I'm looking forward to one of the communicator successors 😉

PS: The mutsubushi concept phone looks great, but its just a concept phone, might never see the light of day.
