Information for MMC Card

Having 122 MB instead of 128 after formatting is absolutely normal.

I plan 2 buy 1,how do i get 2 formatin a mmc?I want 2 knw d step by step instructions?Wil a 128 mb mmc nt crash ma fone?Cheers

thts wot i thoght but i hear from JIMMY tht they are 100% compatible jus wonderin how he com to tht conclusion

128MB cards work fine. There were rumors that some cards did not work with the phone but no confirmed models yet but to be on the safe side test the card right in the store when you buy it and give it back if problems found.

To format card run the Memory application and select Format card from the menu. It takes sometime to format the 128MB card but you can still use the phone in the process.

Having 122 MB instead of 128 after formatting is absolutely normal.

Is not normal, is about 10% o MMC Kb lost " only has 18 Kb mmc information used by the system", for that 128 MB never loses 6Mb, only loses I think 1Mb instead of the 6MB that my Card lost.

The Pretec MMC works fine.
Done that 2 times last night Kirill, I format the MMC 2 Times and had found that the memory instead of 128MB has 122MB, I thought that was normal size instead of 128Mb having 127 or 126 MB loses 1 Mb or 2 for system information but 6 Mb I think is to much. 😞

I'm going to call to the Store and ask for information if thay say that is normal "that I think not " I will not ask for my money back, if thay say that it ins't normal, i'm going to change for another MMC Card and see if also happens to the new one.

well i wont be able to test in store cos il prpbs buy from expansys.com althogh i hear ppl from here are using cards from tht site.... ne downgrades in performance??

I got my 128mb card from expansys, works fine 😊

122mb after format IS normal.

Yes thats because the card is 128000KB (128x1000KB) and not 131072KB (128x1024KB). 1MB is 1024KB and on harddisk/memory card/etc. space is counted like 1MB = 1000KB.

My mmc card had a problem and the store manager gave a new one to me.

So my problem is gone, and after format the mmc card still having 122 MB because the system uses 6 MB Buffer. The explain that Nokia Portugal give it to me

Have done the maths thing the problem was that the mcc card the first one had a error..

May I know if there is a way to format the MMC card outside other than using the reader?

loosing approx.4-6mb is quite normal,i have formated my MMC 64mb card,and i can use only 62mb...AND 128mb cards should 100% work with N3650(as fearce and i said before).

Just brought an MMC 128mb card worked immediately with 122mb , most hard drives format out at least than their stated capacity its 100% normal
