attaching pictures to addres book

Hi,

I can attach a picture to the contacts in my phone book but when the caller rings its only a little picture. How can i make it full size? or can i not?

No currently there's no software solution to the "full-sized-incoming-thumbnail" even though we're allowed to assign a full-screened photo to each Vcard entry. However you can optimize your image to make a better thumbnail. You'll need to edit and resize your photos. The 3650 takes picture ad 648 x 480 so you have plenty of zooming and cropping options. I have an additional batch of thumbnail photos that's 176 x 176 because if you use the fotos you've just taken as thumbnails it's long and thin and scaled to fit and therefore teenie-tiny.

I'm sorry people there's simply no "1 or 2 click" solution to this until someone develops a program focusing on this issue!

So is it just me that doesn't get the image displayed, even though i've attached it to the contact? Is there something i have to do to activate it?

Cheers

Here we go with the vaporvare again... maybe it will have a free webbrowser built in... maybe it wont.

I'm really tired of fairytale stories.

There is a lot of info on Symbian 7.0 on the net, www.symbian.com,doh! Its not something that was invented yesterday.

From what I've read I understood there is a contacts model, which is Symbian 7.0s engine and a Phone book engine which is Series 60 2.0 engine.

My guess is that the any improvements to the Contacts app should be in the UI.There are a lot of new features in Series 60 2.0 like new system applications:Media Player,Connection monitor,Skin and Colour personalization app,Voice-command applications,Wallet,File Manager,Media Gallery instead of the photo album(I'm not mentioning the API's) but nothing about full screen caller id images,so lets not start a riot again.

For a full screen caller id image on the 6600 and any other Series 60 device,I'll put my money on j2k's app which is still in development stage BTW

Thanks for the coherent explanation and update, which leaves us with the ball squarely in J2K's court. 😃

You know things will be much easier if there's a prog that can zoom, crop, and resize photos (on the phone), instead of sending them back and forth!
