Guys, why do you need 256 or 512 mb MMC 😮 ,i have 64 and its suitable for me,so 128mb MMC is too big,but it will cover all your needs..AND IF WANT for MP3 listening,i want to say that the quality is bad... :-?

i have a friend that work in nokia shop and he told me that mmc is mmc so the phone support mmc so it support it all ,but the best one is 64MB cause it doesnt slow the phone down, you can use the otheres but it will slow the phone,

I would get the largest MMC possible,i would like to watch movies for one,i've heard that the PVplayer from packet video can use the whole screen. The quality of the mp3 depends on coding, but even if you have mp3 with high bitrate and frequency you'll still be stuck with mono.

I agree with abou ll han,64 mb MMC is great one.,i have friend who has N3650 and 128mb MMC,and he uses only 70mb,he uploaded to MMC,all progs,videos....

racingboy, can you post a pic with the FW version of that phone plz and what country is the FW intended for. Thanks.

Its clear that the firmware is intended for some asian country, though a screenshot of the firware version would be nice.

It should be from Taiwan if i am not wrong, the writing is traditional chinese script. Mine is a 128mb MMC, works ok but when i tried 256mb, it really is abit slow when accessing. Haven't tried 512mb yet,not many countries carries 512mb due to low demand right now.
yea,you are right 256 slows the phone..
You state it as if it was a fact, but how do you know, if you only have one 64MB MMC yourself (and apparently one friend with a 128MB one)?

i know that, coz other users from AAS forum and nokia3650.net forum and my-symbian.com forum told about it.ALL OF them said that 256 mb MMC slows down the phone,BUT I ALSO heared from some guys that they have 256mb MMC,and it doesnt slow down the phone.

How many of those others had actually a 256MB MMC themselves, and how many were also just repeating something they read, too? 😉

two or three persons told that they had 256mb MMC,and it worked normal, but others who bought 256mb MMC(nearly 50persons)told that 256 slowed down the phone.
two or three persons told that they had 256mb MMC,and it worked normal, but others who bought 256mb MMC(nearly 50persons)told that 256 slowed down the phone.
For the heck of it, I searched AAS, my-symbian.com and nokia3650.net for all post that contain both "256" and "MMC".

Among such post on all those three forums I found exactly 4 people that claim they actually have a 256MB MMC (only one mentioned the manufacturer by name: PDC). Two of them said it didn't work (unknown firmware version) and two said it works. None of those four talked about slowdowns.

I also found one person who claimed to have mailed Nokia and received a reply that talks about it slowing down the phone. No mention about which firmware, and when she asked Nokia, what Nokia organization she asked, where in the world that was, and who replied.

Then I did find several (I didn't count, but couldn't have been more than ten such post, many of those from some jimmy-floyd person 😉 ) claims dated after the aforementioned Nokia-email post that seem to repeat the slowdown rumour, but not a single one of them seem to actually have a 256MMC of their own.

So, we're far from finding anything close to 50 people with a 256MB MMC (only four that actually say they have one), and not a single one with a 256MB MMC that says it slows down their phone.

Maybe you'll do your own searches, actually read those posts, and then see if you get a different number of people that actually have bought and tried 256MB MMC's, befor you repeat this rumour any more?

Also, here's the only company that I can find that claims to have succeeded in actually producing a 256MB MMC:

Why are you so attentive.i have a sence that you like argueing :agrue: ,.I KNOW that 256mb slows down the phone, and this is the fact.

No jimmy, that is not a fact but a rumour,it will be a fact when we have info from a respective source, and it seemed to me that N/A's post was quite resonable and that you are the one who wants to argue. When you can provide an url for a respective source that claims that the 256MB MMC slow's down the phone, then it might be a fact.

it's not about "following the others", but I have to agree with N/A and GhostDog... I'll believe it when I see it or when I get decent info from someone who can give it... I'd like to know exactly how "slowed down" it gets... maybe in seconds...?

Aha,and? You didn't get the poing jimmy, that is hearsay, like the nokia 7650i with 16 MB MMC(The last one to invent that one was willbrady 😃 )
Hearsay are not facts.

I've bought a 'Sagatek' 256 MB MMC to use it with my 3650. The MMC is fully operational in my PC's card reader - I formatted it there and put the original Nokia MMC files on it.

Put in the 3650 the phone first detected the card. I saw the same screen as in this topic's first posting - I could've easily taken that same screenshot - however in German Language.

But when I tried to save some content (e. g. a single photo taken), the phone claimed that the card has to be formatted - which it was already. The formatting completed with no errors - however the next try gave exactly the same error message.

To me it is very annoying that some dumbasses (sorry for my harsh words) claim to have things they don't really have or having done things which they might have just read about at all. In most cases the written sentences are that lousy, mistyped and weird that every posting is a clear statement that these people do use a phone because they're hardly able to read and write.

I'd suggest those just try to stay close to the facts.

On a German page regarding the 9210(i) I saw a definitive statement about the 9210 not beeing able to use MMCs >128 MB because of its hardware limitations (http://www.nc9210.de/9210/_news33.htm, search for '256'😉. As the pages information seemed to be serious, much more serious that the usual forum posting rubbish seens elswhere  , I asked the maintainer if he could contact his friend and get a definitive answer on 256 MB cards on the 3650, too.

This is what he answered:
>> N3650 <
>there exists no hope. At present time it is questionable whether even
>the new comming devices will support these memory cards.
>
>Greetings

My conclusion is that I won't believe the 3650 using any MMC >128 MB before having an opposed proof in my very own hands.

landmark

Like I've said before, jimmy-floyd is FULL OF SHIT. He replies to ANYTHING and EVERYTHING even though he has absolutely NO clue to some of the things that he replies to.

I suggest, if FULL OF SHIT jimmy has no fact, evidence or proof to what he replies to, he should just shut the hell up. Don't reply based on what he THINKS/OPINION...obviously, what he "thinks" isn't necessary the FACT.

Go get yourself an actual 256mmc jimmy FULL OF SHIT and TEST it out before you open your mouth about this topic/subject. Don't WASTE our time by telling us heresays/rumors.

Jimmy continue with your thought's.

Some peaple doesn't think before answering.

Guest keep your thought to you

OHHH, fuckedMAN if you (who said bad about me),lived in Russia,i'll find you,and your live will end.yea its really so,,.Maybe you are crazy...but you ARE REALLY fucked man,coz you dont know how to speak with people..

You both don't know how to speak with people,BTW: Can anyone speak with something else, except Dr Doolittle of course.

This is geting no where, thread locked.

I'm getting really sick of the attitudes by some people on the forums. What's happened to the friendly forum community spirit we once had?

Can we keep it peaceful please?
