for all those browsers you have listed you need an unrestricted GPRS connection.

The only browser that works on my phone with a standard WAP GRPS connection is webviewer.

Webviewer on my phone only works with an internet GPRS connenction not my normal WAP one. Same with Opera and Dorris!!

ya, webviewer is the only one that works for me.

its annoyoing because webviewer is the only one with DOES NOT allow FULL screen access

Its great because my GPRS WAP access is free....but iwish it could have full screen mode.

Also, does anyone know of any instant messaging programs with work with a restricted, WAP only GPRS connecton? i have tried IM+ and Aglie Messenger....but they dont work...IM+ only works with an unrestricted GPRS conntection for me....and i cant even get agile messenger to work at all....

With GPRS WAP you can only do what it says on the tin; view WAP via GPRS.

To use any web browser, instant messenger or anything whihc connects to the internet you will need full GPRS. Some dual mode browsers will download HTML pages via a WAP portal, the only working example of this that i've seen is the default browser on the P800 and even this only works with certain pages.

The only solution you will find is to get full GPRS TCP/IP or "unrestricted" as it's refered to here. If you are in the UK, Vodafone & T-Mobile don't place access limitations on GPRS. Orange's data bundles are all full access packages (Square Deal/Access Pack/Open Access are all GPRS WAP) while O2 brand it as MobileWeb.

T-Mobile currently have an instant email promotion which gets you 100mb of unrestricted GPRS for 10, an absolute bargain.

webviewer does the same, HTTP through the WAP portal - which is great for users that have free WAP GPRS acess.

If a web broswer can do it - then surley an instant messaging program could be made to work with the same theory? Sending data through the WAP portal? Just like webviewer does?

No, unfortunatly not. It Webviewer does work its becuase it (im no expert on this...) requests the data as WAP somehow. So far there isn't an IM program which does this. They have to connect the the MSN/AOL jabba server which will only accept and process conventional data.

I just tried webwviewer but i don't work with my WAP GPRS access from SFR (France)

I have an error " HTTP-version mismatch ".....
why ?

Webviewer works for me on O2's Genie WAP only access.
and it's still totally free for me!!!
