Desperately seeking help

I have just purchased a 9210. But...
i am currently unable to "retreive mail". Whenever I try the 9210 dials in and connects to the pop server. Then reports "Error Lack of resources 'You have' note only partly functioning". Then quits with an KERN-EXEC reason 3 error.

I have version V03.62 (09-10-01) RAE-3 software version. If anyone can help at all in resolving my current situation I would be most grateful.
Thanks
Simon

Wow ... if you're sure all the settings are correct, then I would consider a format ...

hope someone else can give you a better solution.

I am a bit worried about formatting it, as I have only had it a week. What
information will the format destroy ? Things like the irda or serial
connection drivers/controllers ?

Can I just copy new software on to it, as I currently can after a format ?

If so, do I have to match the software revision, ie. keeping to 03.62 ?

Thanks again,
Simon

Formatting doesn't lose anything system related. It will wipe personal data (e.g. contacts, internet settings, file etc...) but you can back these up to MMC using file manager.

You will need to reinstall some program after the reset. These are available for download from Nokia's website (there in the support section). Make sure you get the software for your firmware because yes that does matter.

Well you can actually refer to http://www.allabouter6.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1155&start=0

It's a "how to format & reinstalling..." Good Luck!!!

I've had my 9210 since February and never re-formatted it. This week, I gave it a try and am amazed at how much faster it is now! It's more reliable and stable now as well (I still get 'SIM CARD NOT ACCEPTED' when I soft reset).

Why this market improvement? I don't understand.

I have tried the format and reinstall approach, with I regretably annouce no result.
It is as before, "Lack of resources...note only partly functioning".
