I'm so annoyed with my 3650! I always get memory full errors and messagess popping up when i try to open a programme.

It cant be the memory because i've got shit loadza mem left on my phone and m-card.

Has this ram problem been fixed yet in later firmware?

And is there any software that will help to save ram?

Cheers.

P.s when will 6600 be released in uk?

You get memory full errors not because you run out of room on your MMC but because some progs like Opera and Doom require a lot of OPERATIONAL RAM. That is part of the internal phone memory, so if you have installed a lot of apps into the phone or taken pictures that are stored in the phone memory that is your problem. Also the phone does seem to have memory leaks, so before running a memory intensive prog it's your best bet to reboot the phone.

Why do people get so confused over this.
It's not about whats installed on the internal disk space of the phone - it's about RAM, you know like on your PC you have HARD DISK space and RAM - if you run out of RAM, clearing space on your HARD DISK does not make any difference.

You need to shut down your running applications - preferably reboot your phone as the 3650 does suffer from memory fragmentation and leakage.

Best 😊

Will.

i understand what your saying but i have never been able to run opera except when i was doing the slauncher trick where you can run apps even though the phone is off

Are you saying that if I install 2MB worth of programs on drive C: I will still have all the operational memory that I would have had, had those progs been installed on the MMC?

OK I got this figured out for myself. Used to think that the more you store in the phone, apps, pics, etc the less RAM you were going to get. It turned out that I was wrong.

RAM and internal storage are completely separate. Tested this out the following way. Using AppMan looked at the free space on drive C: and the avaialble RAM. Then copied a large file onto drive C and the amout of RAM did not change and it was GREATER then available storage space on C: Thanks for helping me sort this out. 😃
