im having a bit of trouble with pc suite . it comes up with errors like
A DEVICE ATTACHED TO THE SYSTEM IS NOT FUNCTIONING
and
EXTENDED FILE MANAGER SEND REQUEST FAILS, THIS NETWORK CONNECTION DOES NOT EXIST.

and tells me my infrared link is no longer active , but it is still active as the icon on the phone is solid and not flashing .

it works sometimes but its all a bit hit and miss . i havnt changed any settings , it does it more often when i send from phone to pc and less when i send pc to phone and its only started to do this tonight. ive tried rebooting both phone and pc but no good.
if i dont use pc suite and just us the ir link to send and recieve it works ok .

but its been working fine for months with my 7650 and about 1 month with 3650 and i havnt changed a thing

Guys, PC Suite is not a good program. It is still buggy. It did not anymore detect my phone. To transfer images, I need to manually transfer them by IR and not by PC Suite. Damn!

I just uninstalled the PC Suite program. Check if the Wireless Link is enabled.

This is the only way Windows and your phone can communicate via infrared.

Hmm, these are messages of application(s) installed in the device (Extended File Manager...). You cannot have infrared connection active in mRouter (connectivity for PC Suite) and be able to use wireless (infrared) link at the same time. If you want to send files from eFilemanager via IR, close IR connection in mRouter first. Otherwise you still have a conflict.

 Hey Guys,

I have been demonised with PC Suite on my machine for a month now.

I get unregistered/registered error relating to ftconapp.dll.

I have spoken to Nokia over two deozen times & they just keep on referring it to Nokia Finland HQ.

I have tried to extracxt the program using winzip & run the set up from there.

I have also run the set up files for the mrouter directory.

Still no luck, any one with similar problem or know the solution, your help would be appreciated

Be Cool

Hello,
I am also having problem with Nokia PC Suite. The problem occurs during converting mp3 file to wave file. The problems seems to be related to multimediaconverter.dll. Whenever this problem occurs, my PC Suite has to be closed.
Anyone having similar problems? How'd you deal with it? Thanks!

Reading this it seems that they are unrelated problems to each other. I agree with the fact that Nokia tech support is terrible when it comes to the PC programs but what I suggest you do first is get a healthy system. I have PC Suite working on a machine with XP SP1 and on a machine with Win 98. The problematic component is the mRouter working with BT virtual serial ports but none of you have reported this. Get your system general health up and it should eliminate at least half of your problems reported here... most importantly get the latest drivers.

Krill,

Appreciate the response.
I have XP Home Edition with SP1 as OS on my machine.
I recently loaded SP1 with the additional drivers installed.

I have attempted to re-install PC Suite again, which keeps on hanging @ 99% on Install shield App.

I have a laptop that uses XPHE as OS without SP1 & the program loads fine. Have done the same thing on an older PC using WIN98 OS, no problem.

Please recommend any actions that be applied to my PC i.e. re-installing XPHE did not help.

Thanks again.
