transfer images to another phone via IR

This is NOT possible to happen between two different Nokia phones for some nonsense (to me) reason, unless they are both Series 60 phones. I think it can be done with other phones, though. Strangely enough Nokia chose to cripple their phones... :-?

I use my 7650 to transfer photos and other things my simens sl45 and there is no promblem

Yes you can send pictures from 7650 to SE T310 with IR, i have done it myself..

why can't i transfer images from my 7650 to 6100/6610?

Now why would nokia want to do something stupid like that? Do they think that by doing this all buyers will prefer nokia? Bulls$#t. The 7650 cant even send photos via bluetooth to say the SE p800 but it works the other way around. Someone should file a case or something against this kind of behaviour and taking customers for a royal 500$ ride.

When i had my nokia 7650 i was unable to transfer ANYTHING by i/r to a nokia 7210 - not images, not midi ringtones, nothing - i tried this with several nokia 7210's none of which worked, it's the sdame now i have my 3650 though i can transfer files by BT and i/r to other 3650's no problems! The only reason i can think of for this is different types of I/R frequency used ie different TV remotes though why a phone manufacturer would choose to do this in different phone moidels is beyond me and ultimately shooting themselves in the foot!!! :roll:
