Will the SX1 be an error plagued phone?

I am thinking that a lot of people that are eagerly waiting for the SX1 are owners of SL45 phones. I owned a SL45 for 2 years myself, and damn I loved that phone. But it's dead now. That's my concern about the SX1, is it going to be an error plagued phone like the SL45. My SL45 was ok the first year except for occasional problems with reading from the multimedia card where you'd have to take off the card and put it back in. After a year it started having a lot of problems like turning off by itself, buttons wouldn't respond, etc. Then it totally died. I loved the phone so much I thought about getting another one but at one site there were about 60 reviews for the SL45 and about 20 people had problems with their phone at one point another. I can't remember the site now, but even on the club-siemens discussion forum for the SL45 it's obvious that there is a problem with the SL45.

I really want the SX1 as it's an upgrade to the SL45 but I am just worried it's going to have the same kind of problems. Problems stemming from the fact that it's a phone packed with features like mp3, reading from an external card etc. But I am hoping that because it's on the Symbian platform it's going to be more stable. But then again, they've been pushing back the release date of the phone soooooooo much that it just seems like they have issues with BUGS!

I don't know whether the SX1 will have hardware issues but i'm pretty confident with it because of the platform,Symbian 6.1 and Series 60 v 1.x

IMHO,the SX1 is one of the most feature packed smartphones, even more packed then the hyped Nokia 6600.

This is very true about SX-1

I went through three SL45's (under warranty) before I gave up and got a SE T68i. It had problems too but not as bad as SL45. I read P800 is terrible so what do I do for a smartphone? Wait for Nokia 6600 - at least their phones are usually stable.

Where did you read that?!?! I think the P800 is the best (smart)phone out there...

The P800 is generally regardsed as the best Smartphone on the market. I lvoed mine, if it had included predictive text input I would never have got rid of it.

The only other problem is that the mic is on the back of the handset. The way I held it I was always covering the microphone, doh!

"best" is a relative thing; for someone "best" = "cheapest", for somebody else "best" = "smallest", or "best" = "with most features", or "best" = "most reliable", or "best" = "with largest screen", or "best" = "with pen input", or "best" = "without pen input", etc. 😉
