I RECENTLY INSTALLED FILE EXPLORER...AFTER A DAY IT CAUSED MY PHONE TO CRASH AND GAVE ME A SYSTEM ERROR MESSAGE. I COULDNT BOOT THE PHONE BUT FORTUNATELY AFTER A DAY IT DID BUT I COULDNT RESTORE IT TO ITS THE ORIG. FACTORY SETTINGS BEC IT WAS LOCKED. GOOD THING THE RESTORE FEATURE OF THE NOKIA SUITE SAVED MY PHONE. I MIRACOLOUSLY RESTORED MY PHONE. SAVING ME BIG TIME
MORAL OF THE STORY...DONT FIX WHAT AINT BROKE AND OF COURSE THE SOFTWARE SUCKS.
1. Don't write in capitals. It is considered as rude netiquette.
2. You're probably the first person who has experienced problems with FExplorer. This shows you are in the minority.
3. The problem was probably not even caused by FExplorer.
My parents bought me a lamborgini,recently,i installed a new stereo...after a day it caused my lamborgini to crash in a wall with 200 miles per our,i'm sure it was the new stereo's fault although i still don't have a drivers license but fortunately after a day my parents miracolously bought me a brand new lamborgini,they are filthy rich you know.
The moral of this story is....if you are incapable of doing anything right,get your self rich parents and of course,the stereo sucks.
what a m***n. Im 100% sure the hangup was not caused by WONDERFULL SPLENDID & FREE FILE_EXPLORER. It was caused by some warezed softwarez you s*****d s**t installed at the same peaks with FE. Long live Domi!

I'm more than 70.000 copies (simply check this url : http://my-symbian.com/7650/download/search.php?name=FExplorer in the 'most popular - 56000 copies !!) around the world of my FExplorer - nobody has reported that - and FE doesn't eat the memory !!, like someone had said, it's certainly caused by some cracked app which patch the arm processor code whitout taking care of the stack ....

WELL IF MY KEYBOARD WASNT STUCK, I WONT BE USING ALL CAPS, DIDNT MEAN TO BE RUDE. Now i have a new keyboard. I guess im the first to have a problem with FE. I have no other application installed on the phone other than the official video recorder from nokia. The phone suddenly turned off and then SYSTEM ERROR evry time i do something. It is logical to assume that after i installed it the phone went haywire, that it would be the culprit. Just wanted to share that.

Theo only thing I don't like about FExplorer is that when you want to send multiple files to another phone or computer you have to do them one by one. It should have a select/mark all function and then send. Other than that it's a top notch app!

IMHO,Domy had problems finding a way to display the marked files on the screen,and not with the actual procedure of marking files.

I'm not disputing the fact you have had a problem with your phone but to say "FExplorer sucks" :roll: is just waaaaaaaay off the mark and wholely unjustified.
I've been using FExplorer on my 7650 (FW 3.16 even today 😛 ) since Domi's first release and I've never had a problem with any of the incarnations of this brilliant software. It's been great to see the software evolve into what it is today... an easy to use file manager for my phone with a great deal of extras, in my opinion, something that Nokia should have included as part of the phone in the first place!
All this and FExplorer is FREEWARE I'm certainly glad there are people like Dominique out there coming up with innovative software like this and they don't ask for anything in return.

I don't usually post much, preferring instead to read alot more of the posts on this forum but I read this post and felt compelled to reply. Wouldn't it have been alot more polite to post something like "I've installed this software and it's knackered my phone, please help with ideas etc." than to just come here and diss other peoples hard work? You'd have got a more favourable reaction if you did.

FExplorer is a great free program. If you don't like it, there are plenty of commercial alternatives. :P

about the 'selected/selected all files', I have no problem how to program the keys but I'm looking for a cool and a simple way to *DISPLAY* the marked files ...

what about changing the color of the marked files, or make them bold or invers or wrap anything around like:
file.txt ---> "file.txt"

this is not possible (already thought about) because the lists in the phones can hold only one color/font/ ..... per list ; thanks to Nokia !!!!
I'm going to find a solution during my hollidays to this very asked demand !

maybe you can add another field where you can put a sign that indicates wheater a file is marked or not. (same as in the photo area when you mark the pictures..)

That way you can use the same space & not require an additional column to take up additional space.
