Can anyone provide some info on the differences between the
several 9210 models please?

I am interested in purchasing a used model but can't decide which.

9210 - original. Latest firmware v4.13

9210e - identical to 9210 but specific to Orange in the UK. Has to be unlocked to use on other networks. Latest firmware v4.14

9210i - next generation of 9210, faster processor, more RAM and updated firmware, latest is v6.0

9290 - US version of 9210 to work on US network frequencies.

If you are in Europe, it's worth the extra for a 9210i.

The Nokia 9210i has the same processor of the 9210, a 52 MHz ARM.

Maximum size for a 9210/9290 is 128Mb. Don't use SanDisk MMC as they don't work in a 9210.
Maximum size for a 9210i is reportedly 512Mb. I only worked with 256 Mb and that worked like a charm.
