Because I have Orange care, I've had a fair few 7650 handsets, this is a new one that came a few days ago. I've just had my first long phonecall with it (45 minutes) and it's really hot now. None of my other handsets have heated up like this. Has anyone else experienced this, or is this yet again a faulty handset?
getting hot
LOL - how many is 'had a few' and what do you do to them to destroy them??

Just thought i'd join my fellow Londoners! Hi!
Heya sounds like a serious problem with the handset. R u sure that the NEW handset you got sent is actually NEW? i work for a mobile phone company and alot of the network and insurance companys will replace faulty handsets with reconditioned handsets. Id check with orange to ensure they arent giving reconditioned handsets.
Personally my 7650 never got roasting hot. But i was never on the fone longer than 10 minutes. So maybe it wud of if id been on as long as you. Hope you get it sorted.

Hey,
Maybe it really is your fone's problem 'cause i've already had calls longer than 45, sometimes even longer than an hour and it never got hot. It gets hot only when i out it in the charger.

The OrangeCare agreement states that your mobile will be replaced by a recon phone, its like the 3rd condition in the agreement so dont even bother to argue with them about getting a new one, it wont happen

P.S. Woohooo Londoners
thanks for the replies - I know it's reconditioned phones I get (one time they sent me one where the slider wasn't quite working and there was a big thumbprint in the LCD) but they should still be "as new".
I'm often on the phone for a long time (living far away from talkative relatives has that side-effect) but this is the first handset where it's heated the phone up, and it wasn't on charge at the time.
Next time I have a long conversation, I'll see how hot it gets. If it overheats again, I'll get it replaced.
I'm not sure how we've ended up getting phones replaced so often (Ewan has had his phone changed as many times as I have, if not more). Twice it's been because the ratbag (our darling toddling daughter) has chewed off the wiggly key, and once because mine came off without her being anywhere near it, but otherwise just for glitches and problems that occur and don't go away. Ewan had his changed once because he got caught in such a downpour coming home from work that he was soaked to the skin and so was his phone, despite it being in a holster on his belt under his jacket.
Anyway, this was just meant to be a quick post!
And if there are so many of you in London, why haven't we seen you at the pub meets? :P
