No, it is indeed clocked at 220MHz.
nes/snes emulator

Nope, as the previous poster has said, it has a full 220MHz ARM5 CPU. And you can definitely feel it in both menu and application speed, much faster than any other Series 60 device out there.
Any news on a SNES emulator for S60? I NEED to play Mario Kart on my 6630. 😊
check out http://www.vampent.com/, they have the best gameboy emulator out(vBoy) and a cool nes emulator that supports multiplayer over bluetooth! (vNes) and also a secret project that is supposed to be a SNES emulator! they have posted some screens of donkey knog on an n-gage, cant wait 😃

Thanks, I heard Mario Kart might be quite difficult to run though because it utilized a special chip in the SNES. Still, there's tonnes of other great games though. 😃
come on then wheres that link :P hehe
You can't make a decision with comparing cpu speeds... Emulating is a bit different. These devices uses different chipsets and to emulate sth you need more high hardware.
Avaible snes emulators doesn't emulate so good. Snes games are too slow to play. And cpu speed isn't the reason.
Snes console works @3-4 mhz, s60 phone woks @ 100-200 mhz. Yeah, cpu clock is important but not than coding. You can't be sure that 100 mhz is enough. All about coding...
I have quite a few words to tell, but I don't have time, and sorry for my bad English...
As I'm sure you all know, vSun was released by Vampent a week ago: http://www.vampent.com/vsun.htm
And it is very slow. I have a 6630 with a 220MHz CPU, and none of the games run at anything like full speed. A few games are playable with the sound off (e.g. Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, F-Zero etc), but the rest simply run too slow. And you can forget about turning the sound on; slideshow's too good a word. If it runs this slowly on the 6630, I feel sorry for those attempting to play on all other Series 60 devices with half the processing power.
The quality of emulation is spot-on however, perfect graphics (along with transparencies and all), perfect sound, and support for Super FX/DSP chip games like Doom, Mario Kart etc.
So, brilliant emulator, but current Symbian hardware not up to the task of running games at a decent speed. All that's left is for Vampent to optimise it, but given that the core is already coded in ASM I'm not sure how much there is left to optimise.
Needs tweaking. New version runs better. Some games playable like bomberman.
Hi Guys,
I found a great place to get snes roms on the net. Its at [URL removed] Check it out
Guru
where do i put the rom?
I reckon a snes emulator on a symbian phone would be awesome. Does anyone know if one exists?

a s60 snes emulator.
i cnt see nes app. here, where?
I just ordered a Nokia 6630 today and it'll come in about 1-2 weeks. I was searching for new interesting games for it already and found out that there actually exists PicoDrive for Sega Genesis emulation and vSun for snes emulation (nes too?), but I wanted to know how's the performance like. Does anyone own a 6630 or could tell me what kind of performance could I expect? All I wish is to be able to play Sonic and Mario wherever I am 😊
N-Gage are the most cool one to play some emulator games!
