Hello All,
After installing Task Manager, 3 midlet and 2 Nokia games (comes from CD), I notices the slowness in my phone OS. i.e. taking pictures, menu, going to options, etc.
Memory is still well over 2.5 MB. I have uninstalled the above apps too. Is this because the phone was cluttered with "leftover" files of the uninstalled application?
I am thinking that the above holds true, just like Windows system (Windows 2000, PocketPC2002) whereby the Registry is cluttered. But I doubt there is a "Registry" on the Symbian OS.
Any ideas?
i'd recommend you to have a look at www.symbian.com, to check the os specifications
I am checking it now..but in the meantime, do YOU or anybody else experience the same thing?
hey lanwarrier, i have the same problem too. the menu functions etc are now slowed down.
even when i go into message & say exit...it does not exit fast... it takes some time... this happens with camera as well.
This phone definately neede a memory card slot...too bad that such a good phone cannot take on all what we want it to.
😞

Hmmm, I think the memory may have little contribution to the total slowness. I have cleared up my memory and now I got about 3000 MB still available. Slowness still exist.
I think this is have something to do with the OS. Memory fragmentation? Registry filling? File cluterring? Who knows...
I hope Nokia will come up with a software patches. My old T68 was slow as hell before, but then I upgrade the software (done by Ericsson Service Center) and it worked like a charm. Let me see if I can talk to the Nokia people. My office is only 4 floors below their main service centre.
In the meantime, if people report this problem, I am sure Nokia will take action too.
As always there seems to be problem with early adoptors and their phones. I guess its inevitable to a certain extent. Let hope there's a new firmware available soon.
lanwarrior, I am experiencing the same thing
I can see it mostly when I open MMS's: it is so sloooooooooooow! but, if I have 2 or more waiting in the inbox, the 1st one takes about 30-40 secs to open, but the other ones appear almost immediatly (well, it's matter of 2-3 secs at max)
I noticed this curious thing: I usually run it in English language, but sometimes switch to Italian to install and test localisation of softwares. It is slightly quicker in Italian, I think. Don't know why, maybe it "replaces" some files with "clean" ones... :-?
All,
Please email Nokia or call their tech. support line letting Nokia know about this bizzare issue. If they hear lots of reports, they'll do something.
I am suggesting this because I spoke with Nokia about the slowness and they said "You're the FIRST to report this. We'll check on this and get back to you." Sounds very promising.....

try to clear the log file(delivery reports inc,out missed calls) and it would be faster..
Where do you delete the log file? And does it include the message delivery reports?
