new gameboy emulator

I'm having similar problems on my Nokia 7650.I click on the ROM,GamePhone starts up,the 14 day evaluation message pops up and it crashes.

I'll try to contact the developers and see if we can sort this out.

Apparently it doesn't work if there are too many letters in the GB/GBC file name. Try renaming the file to 6 letters or less (before the .gb/.gbc extension), e.g. "RType2.gb".

That does help a little, but still no play.

Now the emulator starts up,if the ROM is zipped i get a kernel error and if its not zipped i can press play untill i grow a beird and nothing will happen.

I tried to contact the developers but it seems that my ISP is screwing up again. Can anyone else give it a shot and invite them to join the dicsussion?

553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

Their website looks fscked too.

Looks like these guys don't really have it together.

I got the same error here but i thought it was because my ISP's SMTP servers were moving to Linux.

Anyway,i maybe jumping the gun here, but this really smells fishy. You've got an emulator that does not work properly,a broken website and a non reachable e-mail.

and i found on net how to make this programm full!!
are they stupid? they cr**ck a non-working application

Hey Guys! I got the same prob', GamePhone never ran for me... So i checked back on Handago's Website and found Screenshots; yesterday they were not there (or I didn't see them). I checked the sizes of the screenshots and voila:

First one:
176x207

Second One:
176x209 (?!?) 😕

Strange, isn't it?

i think the producer of gamephone has to check his app if no one is able to play a gameboy rom with it, it saunds great a gameboy emulator with sound but i'm still using goboy cause this one could not even play a .gb rom of 50 kb

i was trying this app and i noticed that it works, the only thing you have to do is the roms name can't be more than 5 characters and you need 2mb or more availeble ram if you have these things the app will work great with sound!!

one thing have to say: it won't play roms over 2 mb just like goboy, maybe an idea for a next release

sorry i was wrong again it will play roms over 2mb but than you need 2,5 - 3,0mb free ram this is really a better app than goboy: gb - gbc roms over 2 mb!! with sound its only dissapointed that there is no save function like goboy has

I've tried it with "Tetris DX" and "Columns DX" zipped, both successfully. Neither are very big anyway so it doesn't gaurantee success with other ROMs.

what phone are you using? 3650 or 7650? I m using 3650 and it didnt work for me., even with 5chars. and 2500kb mem

I found a way to run a ROM without going through your Inbox. GamePhone is setup by default to load the following game file if it exists "c:\system\apps\GB0004.GB" (for some reason they install some of their files to "c:\system\apps" instead of "!:\system\apps\SimGame"

. Do a fresh install of GamePhone.
. Copy your ROM (or zipped ROM) to "c:\system\apps" and rename to "GB0004.GB".
. Now run GamePhone. You should see "GB0004.GB" instead of "No game selected".

Whether or not it actually runs now depends on if GamePhone likes your ROM or ZIP.

thanks alot its working =))))))))
*yipii*
but the emulator suxx:
1. you cant press 2 keys @ the same time
2. the sound is stuttering

A little more info...

GoBoy is based on an open source GB emulator project, so Wild Palm has to provide the source code for GoBoy (which they do). But they don't have to give the source for their "shell" application that runs the emulator. The shell is what's running when you see the Wild Palm logo and the name of the ROM you've selected. When you start the ROM, the shell launches the emulator and runs in the background. The shell handles some of the input from the keypad and in particular handles cases where more than one button is being pressed at a time.

Now Infinitouch (Infinite Ouch?!?) based their GamePhone on the GoBoy source code, but they had to write their own shell. From my experience they did not write it in such a way that you can press two keys/buttons at the same time. ("Sure, you can run and jump, just not at the same time"😉. This makes a lot of games unplayable. If anyone has had different experience, please say so (and say what ROM, what phone and what size memory card, I'm using version 1.0.0.1 downloaded from the WAP site).

Tried Donkey Kong Land, very slow and the music sounded horrible (would've been OK at normal speed, but slowed down - ugh!).

I think I'll leave this one until they're finished beta testing it.

[Update: oops! Hell posted a shortened of what I was typing while I was experimenting with the app!]

Can it play zipped ROM?

i don't know havent tyed it.

i have discovered something else with goboy: the wildpalm site says it won't play roms over 2mb. But it will play them you only need 3mb ram than it will take files over 2mb

ive just seen it on handango, but read baout it a while back.
is it worth the money?
or am i better off waiting for wildpalm to update theirs??

GoBoy from wildpalm is great, its fast and most of the roms are working with no problem.

GamePhone(The new goboy)seems to me like its still in beta stage but the developers decided to sell it.
