Just Recieved this from sendo...

The Sendo X is running Series 60 1.2s, which has been significantly
enhanced. In most areas it has a richer feature set than phones v2.0. It's
using Symbian 6.1s, which is enhanced as well, including back porting of
certain features of v7.0.

They are currently working on a FAQ for the X.

as long as the sendo X can handle:
http://www.psiloc.com/?id=prod&nrp=84
(remote controll)
i'm happy.
When reading the above webpage trough I start to think
that ALL Series60 phones can use it, seems to be atleast Symbian 6.0 dependent.. But i'm not sure.

But i still want to be more certain that Sendo can handle the remote controllprogram before i buy a sendo X.
So if anyone here buy's it, could just try the TotalRemote demo and tell me..
Cheers, Thnx a Bunch.

All Series 60 IR enabled devices should be able to use Psiloc's IR remote control app without problems. Most of the already available Series 60 applications should work on the Sendo.

Mailed sendo information eariler asking about if the Sendo X would have 6.0 or 7.0 Symbian OS.
This is the answer i got.

Thanks for your email. Future phones will be based on 7.0, but the Sendo X is 6.0 with a lot of Sendo enhancements.

Best regards,

Marijke van Hooren

Actually, to be accurate, it'll be 6.1 (the only 6.0 phone is the Nokia 9210 family), and 7.0s after that for Series 60 (not 7.0; note the 7.0s vs. 7.0 without 's'😉.

Noternet, it says on the website that all their programs work with Sendo X. Looks like a nice piece of software too.! I'll have some of that!!! A great wind up tool I reckon. When you're at someones house start turning their tv over etc. and it'll drive them mad trying to figure out why!

btw do you know what range the phone will have when used as a remote control?

Depends what sort of IR module they fit on the phone. If it's similar to the one Nokia uses, expect a range of roughly 1-2 metres 😊

Only 1-2 meters? Not much use at all!

Don't know what phone to get next!!?? How about the Siemens sx1? Looks like a tasty phone.........if it ever comes out!!

I emailed Sendo with regards to the availability date of the Sendo X and till now no reply. An indication of the service level perhaps?

well... i went in to chelmsford today and ask the link and phones 4 u when the sendo x will be coming in.. deep in thought then they both replied never heard of it.. helpful .. not
