6600 PC Suite Bluetooth connection problems

Success at last

I tried EVERY bloody guide I could find to get it to work with no sucess. I have however factory reset my PC this weekend and then.

Installed bluetooth software (donlge not plugged in).

Rebooted PC

Plugged in dongle - and followed instructions (final install of drivers etc)

Installed PC Suite (auto reboot at end)

Enable Bluetooth on phone

Create connection on PC - password setup on phone and pc etc

Open PC Suite and it WORKED

exact same procedure as I have always done but something that was conflicting/corrupting before has now gone.

Another thing to share after using PC Suite for a long while....

For 6600 users with large MMC cards, backup using PC Suite over BT is really a chore and takes a long time (say 20 to 30 minutes?). These backup and restore processes are prone to errors (Yes, I had problems restoring from backups over PC Suite many times...)

I use PC Suite now only to sync my calendars and contacts with MS Outlook, and to transfer some files.

For full backup of my 6600, I would backup my phone memory to my 256 MB MMC (Takes a few minutes). After that, I would take out my MMC and insert into my card reader. I then do a complete backup of my MMC onto my PC (Takes another few minutes). With this approach, I could do a full backup of my 6600 within 10 minutes with a very low probability of encountering errors.

For restoration, I just need to clear the MMC and reverse the processes within another 10 mins.

Hope this is useful to you.

😊

1- if you have firewall check it and have access for nrouter.
2-check nokia site they list the compatible bluetooth i have msi bluetooth which it work ok.
3- working with ir is much easier than bluetooth.

i hope that help you

Pagemakers wrote:Well my beautiful 6600 arrived today, but I have spent the last 7 hours trying to get the PC suite to see my coms ports.

If I right click mRouter and choose properties no coms ports are listed, only 1 IR port (desktop so I can't use IR)

I am using windows XP and the TDK Bluetooth dongle. I have even been out today and purchased another dongle (Bluetake), installed it on another PC and I get exactly the same problem - No coms ports in nRouter.

Called Nokia and they say it's a problem with the dongle and windows not seeing each other.

Any ideas guys. I fed up with this messing around.

Hi guys. PC Suite is UNBELIEVABLE!!! In the past every now and then the MRouter decided to read the COM and connect but MOSTTTTTTTTTTT of the times not. Now I have had it, I tried everything you people suggest in the forum and NADA NIENTE NOTHING! The MRouter will not recognise the COM no matter what I did. I even removed the modem from the PC because disactivating was just not enough for PC SUITE. I did all the suggested ways of installation....nothing! The bluetooth is recognising the phone and I can send files through the BT program but PC Suite will just not do me that favour......it is a pitty such a great phone 6600 and such a crap software......... :frown: :frown: :icon13:

What may solve most BT problems.

1. Uninstall all bluetooth software both windows and noika stuff.
2. First install the Nokia software.
3. Then hook up yout BT dongle and install the drivers.
4. Use quickconnect, works faster.

Again, this works, most of the time, along with restarting the damn machine.
Good luck.

Tried EVERYTHING litterally and nothing works! Even updated the drivers.........thats it...it used to work once upon a time and now it's completely useless......such a wasted software for such a good phone.

please could u help send games from phone to another but i hav tryed but it dont work so it sucks.

I've had a 6600 for a little over 3 months and to date I've not managed to get it to work reliably with Bluetooth. The phone has been so bad and the support from Nokia has been so awful that I'm seriously considering dumping it for a replacement.... 😡

However on my travels to try and find fixed for the phone, the Bluetooth hassles and the dire software PC Suite for 6600, I have come across a couple of things that tended to yeild better results.

1. After you uninstall the PC Suite, Nokia has also released a "registry cleaner" whch they (quitely) advise you use after uninstalling and before reinstalling. I don't know if you've tried that.

2. The mRouter produce also has a newer Beta version. (I think I saw a mention of it earlier). It has not been certified by the developers but it does tend to fix many of the problems most of the time.

I hope they work for you and if I've repeated advice that you've already received  please accept my apologises for wasting your time.

after a long way to make a com port connection
now, i have another problem, that when i first open the PC suite whatever i enter as the identifier name for the phone in the Nokia PC suite for 6600, it says not valid and cannot start to use the suite........

what can i do?

i have the same problem with my n-gage QD :S ill try to uninstall/install again...

Hello!

I had the same problem with my connection via bluetooth on PC Suite (6600) a I managed to solve it by adding 2 COM ports (e.g. COM 8 for receiving and COM 9 for sending). After that, when you connect to serial port on the PC, just enable the bluetooth on your phone, and the connection is made and it's stable.

I Finally figured out the problem.
Lets say the Dongle is on USB(com3)

in the local services( .. dongle ...) select COM4
in the client applications( .. dongle ...) select COM5
then try checking bluetooth(com4) on the mRouter Properties.

now open up the pc suit , voilla... it will work!!!

well ladies and gentlemen i have got the answer to all your question use this to get nokia pc suite configured to ur pc yes PC via BLUETOOTH!!!!! not infra red!!!

Hi, everybody:

Last week, I bought an inexpensive class 2 BT dongle on the web for about $20+. It took me at least 2 hours to figure out all the ins and outs of bluetoothing Nokia 6600 with my laptop.

For me, the best reward of the successful link between PC and cellphone is that I can use Nokia 6600 as a dialup modem to get online anytime, and almost anywhere (where there is GSM signal).

For future reference, I documented my step-by-step procedures on
www.justintime.us/BT. Let me know if the instruction is not self-explanatory.

i guess using Oxygen phone manager seems to be the best solution..

coz i`ve wasted countless man hours configuring this piece of ....
thankx everyone for trying though.

i will post my results if i get a solution.
