Ghostdogs right thou. Me mates got XP home and it works on his. I reckon it must just be an item of software youve installed on your pc thats causing it, cause ive got the same problem and ive got XP pro.

Hi! For those who has the problem with Nokia Convertor, do you have the right Java Enviroment? Download it from Java website. You can get more infor from the 1st page of this thread. I have been using Helix plus and Nokia Convertor for a few weeks now on my XP home edition. I will suggest the use of Helix Plus. 1st: it is easy to install, 2nd very easy to use and the compression compared to Nokia convertor is better in both sound and visual. The file size is just a few K larger then Nokia convertor's file. But you will get a stretch. If the stretch is too much, then I will use Nokia convertor. All the best!!

Hi! I have a problem here. Do anyone know any software that convert RM or RMVB to Mpeg or to other format? and Any software that will resize RM or RMVB? Regards.
ceks

I'm having problems trying to convert mpg files using quicktime. It converts the picture ok, but it doesn't encode the sound. It simply states that "No audio will be output because this movie has no audio tracks".

Any ideas would be welcome.

@ceks ive been looking for one meself but havent found anything worth using as yet. It wouldnt be worth using anyway, seeing as the video is 176x144, itd just be major pixelated.

@jstn_hntr ive never used quicktime meself. But did u manage to get nokia multimedia converter working in the end? You have to have the latest java installed on your pc before it will install correctly. Otherwise try helix.

No, i'm running Windows XP pro and I have Java 1.4.2_01. 😞 Also regarding helix, I don't think I really want to spend 120 just to convert movies to watch on my mobile. Just wanted to experiment really.

I been messing about with the basic version, and I've managed to change the setting in audiance templates, simply involves changing a couple of lines in the templates xml files. Haven't figured out changing the screen resolution yet.

@ceks

I was looking thru the helix basic folder and came across a sub folder called RealMediaEditor. From wat i can see it contains an app that allows you to split and join .rm files. Not sure if it resizes or allows you to save in different formats. I havent had a proper look at it so it might be worth checking it out.

Stupid question: somebody says here that he can convert .mp3 to .arm, and that it worked well on his gage. Why it's not the same with mine? i used Nokia multimedia converter 2.0, and the only format to convert .mp3 is .arm.

Help, please, help!

Cheers SABz, I got Helix Producer Professional, and am converting now with the help of that Guide you made 😃. 80kbs and 20fps. Havent tried on my n-gage yet, cuz vodafone havent delivered it when they were supposed to 😞

Kinda new with technology^^
what's helix? (really, i'm seriously don't know..) where can i get it?
and if i can convert mp3 to .arm, it means i can send my 'use to be mp3 file' via bluetooth?

thx^^

Hey
Helix is a porgram we use to convert any video type to .rm

.rm is smaller than .avi and .mpeg, and is one of the few file types that is playable on the ngage.

For more info on helix, check Here

Or read the guide i posted by visiting N-Gage Films, posted at the bottom of this message.

I just tried it and didnt hav a problem.

Stupid question, but u hav got microsoft word installed on ur pc?

ah.. maybe that's the problem..
i can't open the microsoft word and said i must re-install it..^^
haven't done it yet...^^ lolz..😃

Thanks for the infor SAbz911 I will take a look and try it. I know this question has been posted before but there is no solution for it! So I will like to ask again. Do anyone know of any software that convert MP3 to AAC?? PLease help! Thanks!

question sabz. from your guide.why not check the maintain aspect ratio option? isnt that supposed to keep it from being stretched?

now my problems. used the 3 methods to create files.
a)quicktime pro 6-worked well but no control over conversion

help
b)nokia converter beta2-doesnt install.have got latest java and switched to java vm instead of microsoft and back, both not work. error message says unable to load jvm.dll.reinstalled java over and over.crap.
c)helix producer-all files to be converted crash the program at 99%.never gotten a single file created.
any help would be appreciated.

Currently im having major problems with my PC due to shitty spyware from freeware programs such as Kazaa etc.
These spyware programs etc. can do all sorts of things to your PC and internet connection.

For example: i no longer get Google as my homepage, instead i get portal.html. And these forums take ages to load up, even thou ive got a 1mb connection.
Some of them even affect some of the software on my PC, such as Nokia MMC. Im almost positive that alot of my CPU is wasted on running these spywhere programs which prevent me from convert files and opening applications.

Its worth checking your PC for spyware, as you might find some programs will start to work again. I might be totally wrong, but at least you gotten rid of any spyware on your PC.
Try using Spy Sweeper (free trial). Click Here To Download

If that fails just try reinstalling Helix or contact the author.

quicktime didnt really work. no sound, and cannot be played by realplayer but only by pv player.

pv player question- when i use it to play the video full screen, it plays it on its side. thats fine with me but what are the settings so i can adjust the size of the vid when i create it to be optimized for the sideways view. i mean dimensions like 176x144.

thanks all.

got to www.pcpitstop.com
helps with problems norton cant fix

symbiamaniac wrote:as a matter of fact, yes i do know of such a program....the program i mentioned in my article, HELIX Mobile Producer, can convert mp3s to aac. i've done so with no problems at all....also, you can use either helix mobile producer or nokia media converter to convert mp3 to 3gpp. hope this helps...😊

How did you do that? I can't find the format in the export list.

When your selecting the file to convert make sure that the option 'all file types' is selected rather than just 'video files' etc.

symbiamaniac wrote:OK this is for all of those groups of people who either love, hate, or are bias about the N-Gage.

Hopefully more will appreciate what it can do after you all read this. Just remember that

symbiamaniac was the first ever to post this.....

As a free gift from me to the N-Gage community, here are detailed instructions i've created on how to

encode and watch ANY movie clip or full length movie on your N-Gage at the highest resolution and

color quality the game deck is cabable of......First, some quick facts to make your mouths water:

1) Encode and watch Full length movies via 3gpp media format (your realone media player will play

this perfectly).

2) Average 90min movie @ highest 15 fps in stereo is only ~50mb. So stock up on mmc cards. I

heard that the N-Gage can only take mmc cards up to 128mb. Thats a bunch of BS! I've contaced

some technical sources at Nokia and they backed me up so I installed a 512mb mmc and it works

perfectly!!

3) Convert all the popular media types to play on your N-Gage like .avi, mpg, mov, ect....in minutes.

It took my p4 1.8ghz only about 10min to convert a 90min movie at max res.

4) So easy that even I figured it out....

OK enough already, life is short....how to convert:

A) You will need the following to play movies:
1) usb link provided with you n-gage
2) mmc (multimedia card) with enough space for movies ~50mb = 90min
3) Now, all you have to do is download one of two applications below:

Nokia Multimedia Converter 2.0
http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/1,6566,040,00.html?fsrParam=3-3-%2Fmain.html&fileID=2998

HELIX Mobile Producer
Sorry, i'm too lazy to provide the link....just do a search on google....Realnetworks makes it.

Nokia Multimedia converter 2.0 is a free app (thanks Nokia!!) and works just as well as HELIX

Mobile Producer (which is a 30 day trial).

B) I highly recommend the Nokia app not only because its free, but because of its simplicity. The only

other thing you need to know when converting to 3gpp format using Nokia MC is to set the fps to 15

for the highest resolution. If you're concerned about file size then, by all means go to a lower fps. The

only advantage about using HELIX (that i've seen) is that you can convert files to realmedia (.rm files).

However, its been a real pain in the you know what getting the settings right. So far i've had much

trouble converting to realmedia files and playing them on the N-Gage. It all depends on what type of

file you start out with (avi, mpg, mov, ect) and how it was initially encoded. With Nokia MC, no

matter what type of file I started out with, it had no problems converting and playing them.

C) use either of the above apps to convert your media file. again i highly recommend 3gpp format.

D) File transfer to your N-Gage is simple....
1) make sure your mmc (multimedia card, which is different than a SD card) is installed.
2) connect your N-gage to your PC via USB link
3) open windows explorer. your computer should automatically recognize that your n-gage with

mmc card installed is attached and it will show your device as an addition hard drive.
4) drag/copy your movie file to your memory card/device.

E) Now this is important!! Disconnect your N-Gage from the USB link. (game deck MUST be

disconnected in order to access the mmc).

F) open realone player, move to right tab to view contents of mmc, hit play, ENJOY!!!!

PS: praise mail is welcomed...hehe just j/k 😃

Is it worth to buy an ngage? Are the 3d graphics good? Are they like playstation 1 or lower?

Look, i really need some help..... all i want to do is put vidios onto my n-gage. the software provided with the n-gage is so rubbish....cld u please help?
