Can't really decide, 6600 or P900?

I currently own a 7650 that I'm getting quite tired of due to it's lack of memory and worthless camera, and I'm seriously thinking about upgrading. But I don't know whether I should get 6600 or a P900. I'm not sure what either has that the other doesn't, but I would like my upgrade to be quite worth the money. In other words, I want a totally "new" phone, not just a slight update. Is the P900 worth the extra 200 that it costs?

Thanks.

for me 6600 is a good choice only upgrade u will get payin 200 more is mainly touchscreen. the stereo output is other one. these 2 are main. but the size fact bugs me a lot. i dont want a big phone now so i want to go for 6600. but if u need a pda sorta thingy then p900 is ur best option. even im bored of the 7650.

Well, the P900 is almost the same size as the 7650 and that doesn't bother me at all.

What about picture quality, how are the pics taken with 6600 and P900? Also, can you have MP3's as ringtones on 6600? I heard you can have that on P900.

If you want something different and you are a power PDA user then get the p900.IMO the 6600 is just an upgrade to the 7650.Both the 6600 and the p900 have a VGA camera and there shouldn't be any big differences in the quality. The touchscreen is a big advantage if you are a power user and the stereo output is great for listening to .ogg and .mp3.

If you are a regular phone user, and want a trendy camera phone with solid PDA abilites and a simple interface then get the 6600.I'm not sure whether the 6600 can have mp3 files as ringtones.

i'm also considering between the 2 phones now...or r they any other worthy fones out there?sendo X or wad?anw can some1 with the respective 2 fones plz post some pictures taken fr. the phone for us to make some comparison.😊

So what's the difference between the VGA camera on the 6600 and the camera on the 7650? Is the picture quality gonna be much different?

Slighty better on the 6600, but not my that much.

Well i got my 6600 today and have been playing with it. I must say it is a nice phone, vey light suprisingly. However the keypad is just to close together and when i press the bottom 2 sets of keys i often hit the wrong one. It's so annoying that the phone is going back tomorrow and i'm opting for the P900. I know i know i cannot compare the 2 phones as they are completely different but i'm looking forward to it anyway. I owned a P800 when they first came out and was happy with that. So thanks Nokia it's a bloody good phone just not for my clumsy thumbs i'm afraid

You are sending it back just because of that? 😕 Doesn't take much to piss you off, does it? 😊

I agree. Sending the phone back 'just' because of the keypad suggests there are other reasons you don't want it but are just using the keypad as the reason for doing so. I have large fat thumbs and i have had no problem using the keypad. The only thing I find annoying is the position of the clear button, I find myself using the cancel soft option key instead. But I'll get used to it. It's a cracking phone. I had the P800 for 3 weeks before finally getting fed up with it. Despite its obvious improvements over the 7650, like more memory and full Bluetooth, as a phone it wasn't a patch on the 7650. Can't see the P900 being a better phone than the 6600.

Oh dear it appears i have upset the Nokia community! I am an avid texter amoungst other things and i stick to my original excuse that the keys are to close together. You may not agree and that is your perogative, but that is my opinion. The only reason i am going for the P900 is i have a P800 and am happy with it but like some people swap there cars every year i swap my mobile. I am not saying it is better than the 6600

Just to qualify what I said, I emphasise the point I cant see the P900 being a better Phone than the 6600. Not talking about the all round product, just the main part, the making and receiving of calls and the associated features the product has to assist (like profiles, etc). As a product, the P800 should have been better than the 7650 but as a phone it wasn't.

Oh dear it appears i have upset the Nokia community!

Not at all, at least in as much as I am not a representative of the Nokia community. Was just commenting on the fact that the keypad from my point of view is actually very usable. Just adding my opinion, was all. 😊

Thanks.

Why you should:
- stereo
- faster text input
- bigger screen
- memory expansion NOT beneath battery
- making agenda notes / notes is easier on a P900 and because of the bigger screen you'll have a clearer view of things and more options...
- data (photo's / games / ..etc) can be easily transferred with the cradle supplied with the phone
- it's totally new phone compared to the 7650...

Why you shouldn't:
- if you do not use (listen) mp3's on your phone
- don't use it as an agenda (the 6600 can do it to, but not as fast as the P900)
- if you want more entertainment (games) than a 6600 is much better, the p800 has games wich are stylus orientated, the p900 may be different in this regard so i am not sure about this...
- if you do not intend to remove the extended memory often, the 6600 can be drag in this...
- memory stick duo... => / $ ...need i say more (MMC is a lot cheaper)

just my 2 cents...
