I want to buy a bluetooth adapter (USB preferred),what would be the best choice for use with the nokia 7650.Thanks
PS:maybe,even a linux compliant one

I have tried the Socketcom and found the software to be disapointing. The TDK i received this morning is a vast improvement.

How much did you pay for it? One more question. For the nokia 7650 to comunicate with my pc i only need the bluetooth adapter, right? No nokia connectivity card or such.

I've checked... The 7650, which here costs 700 , is on sale there for 784.80, 879.84 including VAT? And most of the prices in blueunplugged are the same range... the TDK USB adapter, which here costs 350 a pack of two, there is for 181.47 after taxes... A bit expensive, no?

...or to be more specific:

Just find a cheaper supplier for the same gear

😃

Wouldn't get the tdk usb adapter if I were you, tried one myself and had problems with some functions not being supported

The 7650 uses Object Push to transfer Pictures to the PC but TDK will not support this feature until their next major code release, working name 1.3

Some functions worked OK but but had lots of problems too. As far as I can tell most bluetooth adapters don't support all the functions the 7650 supports.

I think Nokia only recommend their own adapter but I don't know much about that.

Sticking with IR for now. Got a USB to IR adapter for my desktop have to be in line of sight with phone but it is a faster connection and they are a lot cheaper than bluetooth adapters.

where did u get the usb ir adapter and how much and the moment i use tdk usb bluetooth what a waste of 126.00

In the UK:

www.scan.co.uk do this adapter but I have not tried.

MA-620 USB Infra Red Adaptor for Mobiles/PDA's inc MA Software 25.85 inc vat.

www.jungle.com do this adapter:

Sitecom USB to Infared Fast IrDA 42.99 inc vat.

Ordered on of those on friday.
Does it work well with the 7650 (sending/recieving files and nokia data suite)?

Hi,
I am from Singapore and i bought the Mitsumi USB bluetooth for S$69. This is about US$40. So far i can do data transfer from and to phone but are not able to use it on the pc suite. This might be because i am using XP.

Thanks....WeeKong
